The family of Poppy-mae Crutchley, a 29-year-old British woman, has spoken out after her health unexpectedly deteriorated during a bachelorette trip to Spain, leading to her falling into a coma.

Poppy-mae, from Worcester, UK, was on her first girls' holiday when the alarming incident occurred. Her father, Simon Crutchley, shared a poignant photo of his daughter in a Spanish hospital, surrounded by machines, stating she is "fighting for her life."

Her family suspects a tattoo she received two days prior to her sudden decline may be the cause, especially given that Spanish medical professionals have indicated she is suffering from multiple organ failure.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Poppy and her family manage the mounting medical expenses and, if possible, facilitate her return to the UK. On the donation page, her father wrote, "All I can put it down to is a tattoo she had on her wrist two days before this picture. Now she’s 29 but she’s still my little girl. I don’t believe in religion but if there’s a God up there then I beg you to send my baby a little help to pull through this because I need her. She’s too young and fantastic to be taken yet."

Just a few days into the trip, on June 29, Poppy became severely ill. She was initially admitted to a hospital in Benidorm before being transferred to a more specialized facility for advanced care.

A friend, who organized the GoFundMe, recounted the sequence of events, stating that Poppy was enjoying the initial days of the holiday. "She went away on her first girls’ holiday for a friend’s hen do. On the first day Poppy enjoyed herself with friends, a couple of drinks and even had a tattoo," the friend wrote. "Instantly after the tattoo, Poppy felt unwell, that unwell that she had taken herself to the hospital where instantly and amazingly they acted straight away due to no oxygen in her body and fluid on her heart."

The friend added, "Poppy was transferred to another hospital in Spain last night that specialises in what she needs. As it stands currently, they are unsure at this moment in time if it is a bacterial infection (from the tattoo maybe?) or if she has been spiked."

Despite the uncertainty, her friends and family remain hopeful. "We all have faith in getting her back to her normal bubbly beautiful self, and with your help we can give her the best chance possible."
