Caroline Flack's close bond with little-known twin as Disney+ documentary airs

Jody Flack
Caroline Flack’s twin sister, Jody Flack, has recounted the tragic moment she found her sister unresponsive in February 2020 — a moment that left her devastated and fundamentally changed her life.

Jody, aged 46 at the time of the incident, had been planning to visit Caroline on 15 February 2020, following what had been a very difficult Valentine’s Day for the former television presenter. When Jody arrived at Caroline’s London flat, she discovered the door locked and heard the family dog barking inside. Upon gaining entry, she found her twin sister had taken her own life.
This fact is confirmed in the recent documentary series Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, which features interviews with Caroline’s mother, Christine, and other family members. (source: Vanity Fair

A Unique Twin Bond

Growing up, Caroline and Jody shared an especially close relationship. Their mother Christine said:

“Carrie and her twin sister, Jo – they'd never grown apart. It was always them two against the world.” (source: OK! via social media)
The pair shared a bedroom until age four, attended the same school class, and their childhood home videos featured them performing together for family members. Although in adulthood their lives took very different directions — Caroline soaring as a TV star while Jody chose a more private path — the connection remained strong. Caroline once reflected:
“We’re very close … but we’re quite different. She’s a mum with three beautiful children, so we have completely different lives, but we each enjoy the other’s life vicariously.” (source: Express, quoted in the documentary)

The Night That Changed Everything

While the documentary highlights many facets of Caroline’s life, it also acknowledges that it was Jody who discovered her twin in the flat after the tragic event. Christine recounts that she was due to see Caroline that afternoon — but it was Jody who found her first. (source: Vanity Fair

In interviews, Jody has spoken about the years since the event, and the lasting trauma of that moment. The documentary does not just revisit Caroline’s public life, but also the private impact on her family — including Jody, who lost not only her twin sister but one half of a shared childhood identity.

The Different Lives of Two Sisters

Where Caroline embraced fame — presenting popular TV shows, building a public persona — Jody kept her life comparatively low-profile. The contrast between the sisters is noted repeatedly in the series: despite the shared upbringing and unwavering bond, their adult trajectories diverged.
Still, social-media posts from Caroline reflect her fondness for her twin: for example, a birthday tribute in 2018 ended with:

“We will always look after each other and not let ANYONE or anything come between us.” (source: instagram/ @carolineflack)
And earlier, she had posted:
“Happy birthday the good twin! … such different shaped lives … such different shaped heads … but life wouldn’t be the same without you … I’m really glad you’re my sister…”

Why This Matters

The story of Caroline and Jody highlights more than celebrity tragedy: it draws attention to twin dynamics, family grief, mental-health pressures, and the after-effects on loved ones. As the documentary emphasises, for Jody the event was not just public news, but a deeply personal wound. Additionally, it raises questions about how public scrutiny and the media might affect those in the spotlight — and ripple outwards to their families.

In the words of Christine:

“She wasn’t perfect … but that wasn’t her… I wanted the memory to be of this positive, nice person.” (source: Sky News

For Jody, living on after losing her twin means navigating identity, grief, shared memories and the public aftermath of a private loss.
