Coronation Street's Lucy Fallon engaged to footballer beau Ryan Ledson
Coronation Street
actress Lucy Fallon shared a tearful and joyful announcement on Sunday (November 16), revealing her engagement to footballer Ryan Ledson. Best known for her portrayal of Bethany Platt, daughter of Sarah-Lou Platt, Lucy has become one of ITV’s most recognisable faces (Manchester Evening News).

The couple, who are parents to two young children — Sonny and Nancy — first went public with their relationship in June 2021. Their romance reportedly began during lockdown, following Lucy’s split from ex-boyfriend Tom Leech, after connecting on the celebrity dating app Raya (Digital Spy).

From Heartbreak to Happiness

The engagement comes after a difficult period for the actress. In March 2022, Lucy suffered a miscarriage, discovering the heartbreaking news during a private seven-week scan. She and Ryan later celebrated the birth of their son Sonny in February 2023, followed by the arrival of their daughter Nancy earlier this year (Manchester Evening News).

Ryan popped the question during Lucy’s 30th birthday celebrations, marking a new chapter in their relationship. Lucy confirmed the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a series of images highlighting her stunning diamond engagement ring. One photo shows Lucy beaming at the camera while proudly displaying the ring, tears of happiness glistening in her eyes.

In another shot, Lucy is seated in a restaurant, holding up her glass in celebration while showcasing her dazzling engagement ring. She captioned the post:
"Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé! ! ! ! I can't wait to marry you @ryanledson8" (OK! Magazine).

Well-Wishes From Friends and Co-Stars

The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from fellow celebrities and fans alike. Coronation Street co-star Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, wrote:
"Congratulations beauty one! ! ! That is amazing."

Vicky Myers, known for portraying DS Lisa Swain, also added:
"Congratulations to you both! What wonderful news."

Other stars joined in to celebrate the couple, including Emmerdale’s Laura Norton with a simple “Congrats Lucy,” and footballer Chloe Kelly, who shared her excitement with heart-eye emojis (Metro UK).

Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland in Corrie, also sent his congratulations:
"That's amazing news, absolutely made up for you both."

A Love Story Built During Lockdown

Lucy and Ryan’s relationship has been defined by resilience and shared joys. From navigating the challenges of lockdown to growing their family, their journey reflects both perseverance and enduring love. The couple are now preparing for the next milestone in their lives: marriage.

With their engagement now public, fans are eagerly anticipating the wedding celebrations, which promise to be an intimate affair given the couple’s dedication to family life and privacy (Digital Spy).
