“I Made Sure Not To Wear All White” | Giants Player Darius Slayton Proposes To Track World Champion Girlfriend Anna Hall

The New York Giants find themselves navigating yet another turbulent season, one marked by dramatic coaching changes and devastating injuries that have derailed early optimism. The midseason firing of head coach Brian Daboll — a move widely reported across major outlets (AP News) — sent shockwaves through the organization. Compounding the team’s struggles, New York also lost star rookie wideout Malik Nabers and dynamic playmaker Cam Skattebo to season-ending injuries, removing two of their most explosive offensive weapons (ESPN reporting).

Sitting at 2–8 as they enter their much-needed bye week, following painful blown leads in consecutive losses to the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears, the Giants will now attempt to recalibrate under interim head coach Mike Kafka. The break arrives at the perfect time for a roster clearly in need of mental and physical recovery before the stretch run.

Offense Shows Flashes but Needs Consistency

Despite the adversity, there have been bright spots. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, whose development has become one of the organization’s top priorities (NFL Network analysis), has energized the offense with his mobility and aggressive downfield style. His top target has been wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, who leads the team with 53 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating he can be a centerpiece in the passing attack.

The team hopes the bye week will also help unlock the struggling connection between Dart and veteran speedster Darius Slayton. Now one of the team’s longest-tenured players — along with All-Pro defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence — Slayton has been with the franchise since being drafted in 2019. His leadership has become increasingly valuable during yet another difficult campaign.

Slayton Makes It Official Off the Field

Slayton’s on-field production this season includes 23 catches for 343 yards, though he has yet to record a touchdown. But while he hasn’t found the end zone in games, he has scored a life-changing victory off the field. The former Auburn Tigers standout recently proposed to his girlfriend, Anna Hall — the reigning United States heptathlon world champion — in a moment that instantly went viral (USA Today Sports).

Adding a sentimental twist, Slayton chose to propose on a track, the very place where the two first met. In the Instagram video, Slayton drops to one knee, grinning as he jokes, “I made sure not to wear all white,” a reference to athletes’ traditional track attire.

The couple first went public with their relationship in November 2024, sharing photos of each other on their respective pages, drawing warm support from fans across the sports community.

Hall Shares Joy as Giants Teammates React

Hall, 24, posted the engagement video with an emotional caption:
“My whole entire heart. In the exact place we first met I got to say yes to me & you forever ❤️.”

Within minutes, Slayton’s teammates joined in. Cam Skattebo, known for his humor and big personality, commented:

“Congratulations baby !!!!!❤️”

Jaxson Dart added his own playful message:

“Mom and Dad ❤️.”

The joke, of course, plays on the age difference between the 22-year-old rookie quarterback and the older couple — a dynamic that teammates have already embraced in good fun.

Hall Eyes the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

With a wedding on the horizon and a thriving athletic career, Hall now enters a pivotal chapter. Her gold medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships made history: she became the first American woman to win the heptathlon since Jackie Joyner-Kersee accomplished the feat in 1993 (NBC Sports).

After her victory, Hall told NBC Sports:
“The USA does make great heptathletes. So, it really means the world to be able to bring the title back home where it belongs.”

Her path to gold was anything but smooth. After winning silver in 2023, she battled through a painful knee injury in 2024 and finished fifth — a setback that tested her resilience. Hall later reflected on that difficult period, offering a message of faith and perseverance:

“When something goes wrong, there’s something better coming if you just stay faithful.”

A world championship gold medal and an engagement soon afterward proved she might have been exactly right.

As Hall continues preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics while planning a wedding, and Slayton gears up for the remainder of the Giants’ season, the couple enters the next stage of their lives with momentum — both on and off the track.
