Lewis Hamilton’s $200,000 Fight for Roscoe: “He’s My Only Child”

Lewis Hamilton’s bond with his English bulldog Roscoe was more than companionship—it was family. Adopted in 2013, Roscoe became a fixture in Hamilton’s life, often seen at Formula 1 paddocks, red carpets, and even on social media, where he amassed a fanbase of his own.

In September 2025, Roscoe fell gravely ill with pneumonia. Hamilton spared no expense, reportedly spending over $200,000 on intensive care, including life support and a medically induced coma. Despite the best efforts of veterinarians and Hamilton’s unwavering presence, Roscoe passed away in his arms on September 28, 2025, at the age of 12.

Hamilton shared his heartbreak online, calling Roscoe his “best friend,” “angel,” and “only child.” In a deeply emotional tribute, he wrote:

“After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the very end.”

The F1 community rallied around Hamilton, with teams like Ferrari, Mercedes, and McLaren offering condolences. Fellow drivers and fans flooded social media with memories and photos of Roscoe, honoring the pup who had become a beloved presence in the sport.

Hamilton’s journey through grief reminds us that love—especially the kind shared with a loyal pet—is priceless. Roscoe may have left the paddock, but his pawprints remain on the hearts of millions.
