NASA issues official statement to Kim Kardashian after reality star made shocking claim about space agency
With such massive platforms, some celebrities are accused of fuelling misinformation, conspiracy theories, or even hate. There's been plenty of backlash against Elon Musk, with the world's richest man regularly using his X platform to share his views with his 228.5 million followers and beyond.
Others, like Health Secretary RFK Jr., have even told us not to take his advice, while President Donald Trump made a sweeping claim that Tylenol was linked to autism. Other big names continue to jump on the conspiracy theory bandwagon, and after Joe Rogan shared his own thoughts on the New Jersey 'UFO' phenomenon, Kim Kardashian has felt the wrath of NASA by making her own wild claims.
Celebrities and space don't seem to be mixing right now, as we all remember the fracas when Katy Perry went to space in a multi-billion-dollar trip that took just 11 minutes. Now, Kim Kardashian has claimed the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon landing was 'faked'...and NASA isn't happy.
In an episode of the long-running The Kardashians, Kim is seen trying to convince fellow American Horror Story alumna Sarah Paulson that Neil Armstrong wasn't the first man to set foot on the Moon all those years ago.

Speaking to Paulson about Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, Kardashian says: "I'm sending you a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one."
Reading a quote apparently from Aldrin about the 'scariest' moment of the mission, Kardashian says: "This girl says, 'What was the scariest moment?' And [Aldrin] goes, 'There was no scary moment, cause it didn't happen. It could've been scary, but it wasn't, cause it didn't happen'."
Blaming Aldrin's advanced age for making him speak the truth, Kardashian added: "So I think it didn't happen."
This isn't the first time the Aldrin clip has done the rounds, with snippets from much longer interviews being seemingly taken out of context earlier this year.
Of course, it didn't take long for the internet to make Kardashian go viral, with NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy sniping back as he wrote, "Yes, we've been to the Moon before... 6 times!" on social media.
Still, Kardashian's musings sent Paulson down a rabbit hole, with the star saying she was going to go on a 'deep dive'. Kardashian supposedly sends the AHS legend conspiracy theories all the time.
Later in the same episode, a producer headed to Kardashian's trailer and asked her to confirm whether she really believes the Moon landing was faked.
A defiant Kardashian continued: "I don't think we did. I think it was fake."
"I've seen a few videos [of] Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn't happen. He says it all the time now in interviews."
Referring again to Aldrin's interviews, she concluded: "Why does Buzz Aldrin say it didn't happen?
"There's no gravity on the moon - why is the flag blowing? The shoes that they have in the museum that they wore on the moon [have] a different [foot]print than the photos. Why are there no stars?"
When pushed on how she defends herself from people who might think she's 'crazy', Kardashian said: "They're gonna say I'm crazy no matter what. But like, go to TikTok. See for yourself."
Duffy tagged Kardashian in the post promoting the ongoing Artemis program, saying: "We won the last space race and we will win this one too."
Kardashian also wanted to know more about the mysterious 3I/ATLAS object, replying with: "Wait…. what's the tea on 3I Atlas?!?!!!!!!!?????"
Duffy has invited the reality star Kardashian to the Kennedy Space Center for the looming Artemis launch, but let's see if she takes him up on the offer.
