She Spent $70,000 on Cosmetic Procedures — Now She’s Owning Her Beauty Despite the Backlash
Orylan: The Woman Redefining Beauty Through Extreme Body Modification
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Orylan entered the world of body art early. At just 14 years old, she got her first tattoo — a decision that would eventually spark a lifelong journey of radical transformation. Now 26, she has turned nearly every inch of her body into a canvas for bold self-expression, undergoing procedures as extreme as tattooing her eyeballs, splitting her tongue, and even implanting a heart-shaped design in her hand.
While she fully embraces her unconventional look, Orylan admits that not everyone shares her perspective.
Facing Judgment Head-On
“Most people will say I should have never changed myself,” she told NeedToKnow. “But beauty is subjective, and I believe the way I look now is the beauty I’ve always wanted to achieve.”
Her striking appearance inevitably attracts stares, whispers, and reactions of shock from strangers in public. Online, however, the criticism intensifies. Trolls, shielded by anonymity, bombard her with harsh comments such as:
-
“You looked better before.”
-
“You must have had a bad childhood.”
-
“You look like a demon.”
Despite this negativity, Orylan refuses to conform. With over 143,000 Instagram followers, she continues to post unapologetically, building a community of fans who admire her courage and individuality.
Living Authentically in Her Own Skin
“I think I can be beautiful in both ways,” she explained. “But I feel much more myself in the skin I’m in today.”
Unlike some body-modification enthusiasts who carefully plan their transformations with an end goal in mind, Orylan takes an instinctive approach. “I don’t have a goal of looking like anything in particular. I go day by day, seeing if I want to change something. Maybe more face tattoos. Maybe even tattooing my tongue.”
She has also chosen fang-shaped veneers, further enhancing her distinctive appearance.
A Split Tongue and a Strange Talent
One of Orylan’s most unusual claims is that her split tongue allows her to taste two different flavors at the same time.
“When it healed, I tried Coke and Sprite together,” she laughed. “I was confused by the flavor combination.”
The tongue-splitting procedure, surprisingly affordable compared to other cosmetic surgeries, cost her around $700. Performed under local anesthetic with lidocaine, the tongue was sliced down the middle and then stitched to heal into two separate halves.
Her Message to Others
For those considering their own body modifications, Orylan’s advice is simple yet powerful:
“Don’t listen to haters. If it makes you happy, do it out of love. We should only do things that bring us joy. For me, that’s body modification — and I wish that same happiness for others.”
By refusing to let society’s narrow beauty standards dictate her choices, Orylan has become more than just a body modification enthusiast — she is a bold advocate for self-love, freedom of expression, and the right to define beauty on one’s own terms.
