Top army general makes shocking admission about how he's using ChatGPT
Plenty of jobs across the United States have started to integrate AI into the work day, yet one top general in the American army has revealed a shocking admission about how he uses ChatGPT in his daily life.
Many fear that we're fast approaching the point where artificial intelligence is capable enough to replace us all in our jobs, and experts have warned that only a few roles will survive the overhaul in the coming years.
That hasn't stopped people from taking advantage of it while they can though, as it's often used as a means to 'boost' productivity, speed up workflow, or even provide potentially vital advice.
That last point is seemingly taken on board by some key members of the United States military, as the New York Post reports that one important general currently stationed in South Korea has admitted to using ChatGPT to 'help him think'.

Major General William "Hank" Taylor is currently the commanding general of the Eighth Army, and has revealed that he is actively using OpenAI's chatbot to refine the choices he makes for thousands of troops.
"Chat and I have become really close lately," the general remarked, sounding an awful lot like the people that frequent subreddits about becoming romantically involved with their AI chatbot.
"I'm asking to build, trying to build models to help all of us," Taylor added, remarking that he's currently exploring how AI can help the decision-making process when it comes to leadership tasks in the everyday.
"As a commander, I want to make better decisions. I want to make sure that I make decisions at the right time to give me the advantage," Taylor illustrated, and at least he's not using it in active combat — at least, not yet.
It's safe to say that many people aren't exactly impressed or convinced by the use of AI in this particular case, with many expressing their disapproval on social media.
"Fire him now," wrote one angry user on X, whereas another added that it's "actually kinda wild tbh."
A third pointed out a potentially hilarious scenario if ChatGPT did creep into actually battle tactics though, proposing that "if both sides used ChatGPT that would be hilarious." At least the battle would probably be over quicker.
One veteran has also offered their insight into the use of AI, arguing that "AI has potential in optimizing logistics, scheduling ranges, and other tasks, but as a veteran, I am skeptical about using it to drive leadership decisions."
