The scene of four people hugging each other tightly on the saddle, the motorbike lying still in the ditch, made the witnesses feel heartbroken
On the evening of November 24, a motorbike carrying 4 people crashed into an irrigation ditch near Dong Lac Primary School (Dong Lac Commune, Chuong My District, Hanoi), killing 3 people on the spot and a boy on the way to the emergency room.

On the morning of November 25, many people around the scene were talking about the heartbreaking incident.
One of the first people to discover the incident, Mr. Do Duc Huy (living near the scene) said that at around 8:00 p.m. on November 24, while he was sitting looking at his phone, he heard a loud noise at the intersection in front of his house.
People gathered at the scene of the accident (Photo: Nguyen Hai)."Hearing the noise, I opened the door to check but did not find anything strange, did not hear any cries for help so I went back inside the house," Mr. Huy said.
About 10 minutes later, he heard someone shouting and discovered a motorbike with its lights on in the ditch so he ran out.
When he arrived, he was extremely scared when he discovered that 3 people on the motorbike had died, a boy about 9-10 years old was seriously injured.
"At the scene, the man sitting in the front was driving, the boy and girl were sitting in the middle, and the woman was sitting in the back. All 4 victims were still sitting on the saddle, hugging each other tightly," Mr. Huy recounted in a still-fearful voice.
Many people believe that the motorcyclist may not have been familiar with the road, so when he reached the intersection, he drove straight into the ditch (Photo: Nguyen Hai). After initial inspection, it was determined that the victims had died, so Mr. Huy and some residents quickly reported to the local authorities.
A few minutes later, the Commune Police and other authorities quickly arrived and brought the victims to shore. At this time, people discovered that the boy sitting in the middle was seriously injured, so they quickly took him to the emergency room. However, due to the serious injuries, the boy died later.
Initial information shows that on the evening of November 24, the victims went to a birthday party at a relative's house in Dong Lac Commune, and the accident happened on their way back.
The scene is the intersection leading to Dong Lac Commune People's Committee and Dong Lac Primary School. The roads in this area have just been upgraded and are in the process of being completed, the lighting system has been installed but has not been put into use.
Ms. Thiem, who lives near the scene, said that at around 8:00 p.m. on November 24, some people who were exercising saw a Yamaha motorbike carrying 4 people moving at high speed from the People's Committee of Dong Lac Commune to Hong Phong Commune.

"The scene was extremely heartbreaking, all 4 victims were still sitting on the motorbike, the lights were still on. It took me a few minutes to calm down before I dared to go in and assist the victims," Ms. Thiem said.

Shining the light on the motorbike, Mr. Uy and some people saw 4 victims sitting hugging each other on the saddle, 3 of them did not move and were confirmed dead.
Mr. Uy, as well as many people near the scene, said that after the loud noise, they did not hear any cries for help from the victims. The area where the accident occurred was dark and there were few people passing by, so they did not detect it in time.
"The road is wide and open, many people drive fast, not paying attention to speed. There have been a number of accidents at this intersection but no fatalities. This is the first case with fatalities and it is very painful that all 4 people who died were from the same family," Mr. Tu (a resident of Hoi Trieu village, Dong Lac commune) said sadly, looking towards the scene of the accident.
