SEVENTEEN’s DK Stalked by Sasaeng Fan by a Creepy Method, Spooking Netizens
Korean netizens are shocked to see the lengths that a sasaeng fan (obsessive fan) has gone to approach SEVENTEEN’s DK.
At late night on May 5, a topic titled “A creepy phone call from a sasaeng fan” was published on the Korean forum “theqoo”, attracting almost 90,000 views and 400 comments.
The topic covered the recent experience of SEVENTEEN’s DK, who answered a call from his fellow member, Seungkwan, only to discover that a sasaeng made the call.
According to the author of the topic, the sasaeng fan likely manipulated the caller’s ID to make their name appear as one of SEVENTEEN members. Then, after getting hold of DK’s phone number through unsolicited means, they contacted DK, who answered without suspecting since he thought it was a private call.
The creepy method used by this sasaeng fan has greatly spooked netizens, who couldn’t fathom the lengths that these obsessive fans go through to stalk their idols.
Below are some comments from Korean netizens regarding the situation:
- Sasaeng fans are seriously a disease
- Looking at incidents like this, I start to understand why celebrities often develop panic disorders…
- Shouldn’t the sasaeng be punished really severely? How can people do that to other people? Wow, idols really have an extreme job.
- Even manipulating the caller ID?? This is serious creepy
- Isn’t this literally a crime?
- It must be really hard to be an idol
- We should stop calling sasaengs “fan” and start calling them “criminals” instead
