Why is hippo milk pink?

Explanation:
First, we need to know that hippos have a strange thing: sometimes on the smooth skin of hippos, red "blood" sweat appears, sometimes the whole body becomes dark red.
However, in fact, this red substance is not their "blood". To understand this better, a group of researchers took samples of hippo skin and analyzed the elements that created this very special substance.
They found that this substance is made up of two pigments, red pigment (hipposudoric acid) and orange pigment (norhipposudoric acid), these two substances are produced from the exchange of amino acids.
The combination of these two acids plays a big role in the health of hippos. They are not only considered a natural sunscreen, a moisturizer for sensitive skin, but also have antibacterial properties for the skin every time hippos soak in water.
Back to the question of whether hippo milk is pink. Like all mammals, mother hippos "produce" white milk for their babies.
However, during the peak period of lactation in mother hippos, this mixture is also secreted, and it can mix with milk, creating a pink color for the milk.
Therefore, it is possible for hippo milk to be pink.
