Young man 'Goes Viral' for marrying his landlord, 20 years his senior
The love story of a young man named Dongsen, 26, and a woman, 46, has sparked a lively discussion on social media platforms in recent days.
On his personal page, Dongsen shared that he moved to Shenzhen for work in 2018, where he rented a house from a woman named Yu.
At first, the young tenant and the landlady had many disagreements and often had to talk things over, even arguing at times. However, through these conversations, they gradually developed a good impression of each other.
To show his gratitude, Dongsen would bring local specialties as gifts to Yu whenever he returned to his hometown. Feeling sympathy for the young man living alone in the city, Yu invited Dongsen to join her for meals, and over time, their feelings for each other grew.
"When I told my friends that I wanted to date my landlady, who is over 20 years older and divorced, they all opposed it," Dongsen recalled.
Yu initially didn’t accept his feelings, but Dongsen persisted in pursuing her.
One day, Yu opened up to Dongsen about the emotional scars from her past. That was when the young man learned that not only had she gone through a failed marriage, but she also had two children. This was the reason she struggled to accept being with him.
"She also longed for love but was afraid of meeting someone who would treat her children poorly," Dongsen said.

After hearing her story, Dongsen reassured her that he had no issues with her having two children and promised to love them as his own.
The couple officially began dating in 2021. A month after they started their relationship, Dongsen found out that Yu had never taken wedding photos before. He secretly booked a photo session at a studio, which touched her deeply.
Over the course of three years, Dongsen helped heal the emotional wounds of the once-heartbroken woman. Yu shared that Dongsen made her feel secure, as he wasn’t afraid to show his love publicly or post about their relationship on social media.
In early October 2024, they got married.

Their romantic story, which began between a tenant and his landlord, exploded across social media earlier this week after the groom shared their happy moments online. The love story became one of the most-searched topics of the week.
Some people find it hard to believe that there aren’t ulterior motives behind a young man marrying a woman 20 years older, especially since Yu owns several properties, has tens of millions in savings, and a stable job.
However, the majority are touched by their relationship and have sent their best wishes to the couple. Many divorced or single older women have also expressed hope of finding their own "younger love."
