6 Quick and Easy Shrimp Recipes for Dinner

Shrimp, known for its quick cooking time and versatility, is a fantastic ingredient for busy weeknights. Whether you're preparing a simple dish or something more extravagant, shrimp can easily fit into various recipes that help you get dinner on the table quickly. From casual meals to more elaborate dinners, there is an abundance of shrimp recipes available to suit all tastes and occasions.

However, when buying shrimp, it’s important to consider the ethical concerns related to labor practices and environmental sustainability. According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch, the sourcing of shrimp can vary in its environmental impact:

"Most wild-caught shrimp from the U.S. is considered a ‘Good Alternative,’ but ridgeback prawns from California and shrimp caught with skimmer trawls in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (except Florida) are on the ‘Avoid’ list. Over 90 percent of shrimp in the U.S. market is imported, and many countries offer shrimp from yellow- and red-rated sources. To make better choices, look for shrimp that’s eco-certified by trusted organizations such as the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), or Naturland. If you're uncertain about the source or species, it’s always a safer bet to choose other 'Best Choice' seafood options."
