Dileia gave them the sequence, the timestamps, the seat numbers, and the camera reference.
Then they walked back to 11D. Ma'am, could you come with us, please? Margarite Vance stood up. She did not shout. She did not resist.
She did not perform outrage, which surprised Dileia, who had watched a lot of people be removed from aircraft over 19 years, and had seen perhaps four do it quietly. She collected her handbag and her cardigan, and she walked the length of the cabin a second time, forward this time, past every row again, past row six and row four, and past row three, where she did not turn her head, and off the aircraft between two officers, and the cabin watched her go in a silence that had a temperature. Then the door was clear, and Ruiz released the cabin, and 140 people stood up and reached for overhead bins and turned back into ordinary passengers with connections to make. Somebody in row four started clapping. It caught.
It ran back through the cabin for about 8 seconds, not the whole plane, maybe half, and it was aimed at the forward galley, and Dileia stood in it with a boarding door open beside her and hated every second of it.
