"Do as I Said or Quit" The CEO Dared — The Single Dad Started Packing
Caught my wife cheating. She assaulted me and lied that I did. I got her arrested and now her career is gone.
Things in my life have moved so fast in the last few weeks, I can hardly believe how I was living a life where I had happy plans for the next few weeks. And now, I cannot even give a crap about any of that. I have much bigger problems and they genuinely blindsided me. I would never have guessed that this would be my fate.
The worst part is that I did not do anything wrong. I did not have to go through all of this. But what can I do about it? If someone else chooses to ruin your life, you just have to sit through it and hope that you'll figure it out on the other side.
That is exactly what happened with me. I have done my best to get through it and I'm thankful for that much. The problem is my wife. She will soon be an ex-wife, but for now, we are not divorced.
Her name is Maya. We met during her gap year when she was traveling state to state. And we just happened to meet during one of her stops and we hit it off. We were friends for a long time, but we eventually decided that there was something more to it and we made it a thing.
I loved her for nearly as long as I have known her. There are few people in this world whom I know as well as I know Maya. Yet, with as much as I thought I knew about her, I never discovered the fact that she is the kind of person who can cheat on me. I would have called you a liar if you tried to convince me that she was a cheater.
But look at the jokes life likes to tell. Married for ten years and I could not even pick up on the fact that she was cheating on me. I found out through pure luck. There was nothing else to it.
I forgot a tool at home and I managed to go through the first half of the day without it being necessary. But I knew I was going to have to go back to pick it up so I could finish my tasks for the day. I almost never return home in the middle of the day, so she had no idea I was coming. She's an educator, so she's never at home at that time most of the year either.
The first thing I noticed when I pulled into the driveway was that there was a car parked in front of our house. Though it was not in the driveway, I pulled in thinking that she just had a friend over or something. I didn't have any suspicions at all. When I got into the house and I didn't see anyone in the living room, I assumed that the car just belonged to someone else who had come to the neighborhood.
It's not like it is illegal to park in front of someone else's house. It did not take long to know something was wrong. There was perfume in the air and I knew that it did not belong to either of us. It was masculine.
I did not call out. Instead, I walked to the bedroom and I opened the door. I could have sworn I heard sounds when I was approaching, but when I got inside, she was on the bed in a robe reading something on her phone. She looked surprised to see me back, which was a natural reaction to have.
But I could see that she seemed out of breath. She asked me what I was doing back so early, and I mentioned that I had come to pick up a tool. She stood up and hugged me and then asked if I wanted her to make me a cup of coffee before I left. I told her it was fine.
It just felt like she was trying to get me out of the room. I was as paranoid as I could be at that point because the perfume was even stronger. I mentioned the car that was parked outside. She said that she had not noticed because she had been indoors all day.
She also assumed it must have belonged to someone who had come to visit someone else in the neighborhood. I just nodded. I looked around the room looking for the places that someone might hide. The obvious answer was the closet.
It had more than enough space for a full-grown man. I am in construction, so I'm a big guy and even I could fit in there. I took some absent-minded steps towards the closet and she grabbed my arm in a panic. She softened her grip as if she did not mean to be that hard in the first place.
She told me that there was some leftover pie and she would love it if we could both devour it before it went bad. I just nodded and told her that was fine, but I made no move to turn around and exit the room. She asked me what I was waiting for. I could hear her trying to keep calm.
I let her know that something was off. I turned and looked into her eyes. She could not maintain eye contact the entire time. She claimed I was making her nervous and that was why I held her hands.
They were trembling. I just sighed. I knew that I was not wrong at that point. I knew for a fact that I would find someone.
I just did not want the confirmation because I knew my life would turn upside down if I got it. I just could not have ever envisioned the extent to which I will get to that, though. I gently moved her away from me and before she could react, I opened the closet. There was a man standing in there.
He was fully clothed, but I bet that he had not been a few minutes ago. My first instinct was to slug him in the face, but somehow I held myself back from doing that. I do not even know how. I asked him who he was.
He just said that he did not want any trouble. I told him that he certainly wanted trouble if he was sleeping with a married woman. He claimed that he had no idea that she was married, but I told him that was BS. He would not be hiding in the closet otherwise.
On top of that, there were pictures of us in the living room. He had to have seen those. He could not say anything in response to that. I just shook my head.
I really didn't want to hurt him. I was so much bigger than him. I knew I would not be able to control my own strength if I got started though. I took a breath and I told him to leave before I changed my mind.
He could not have escaped from the situation any quicker than he did. I turned towards Maya. She looked frightened, but I had no intention to touch her. I can be intimidating when I'm angry because of my size, but there was no reason for me to have to hit her.
I did not mind using choice words though. The first thing that I did was call her a witch. I pointed out all the sacrifices I made. I listed out all the things that we have been through together.
But none of that meant anything to her at the end of the day. When I was out sweating my butt off in the sun, she was playing house with other men. I knew for a fact that there was no way in ten years of marriage that I was lucky enough to have walked in on the first one. She had to have made it a habit.
She tried to explain, but I shut her up. I knew there was no good explanation for it. She really wanted to speak, and I was too pissed to let her. She was claiming that it was not as it seemed and that I was running with a silly conclusion.
I was tempted to let her speak, but she was starting to get too aggressive. All of the fear and nervousness from before was gone, and now she was coming off like an asshole because her body language was like she somehow thought that I was doing too much. I was angry. I was very irritated by the way she was acting, too.
That's why I got aggressive with her. I did not touch her. I just got in her face and told her that she had to shut the fuck up because she had no right to try and take the high ground in this kind of situation. It happened quickly.
I saw her jaw clench and unclench, and before I could move back, her hands came towards my face, nails first. And yes, she had long nails. Before I could react, she had clawed my face twice, which was when I instinctively shoved her back. I did not hold back, and I only just managed to see her clatter into the dresser through my face stinging.
One of my eyes was in pain, and it hurt too much to open it. I was scared that she had blinded me. I sank to the floor, still clutching my face and cursing her out. I heard her get up, and then almost thirty seconds later, I heard her footsteps.
I managed to open my other eye through the pain, and before I could even look up to see why she was standing in front of me, I heard a spray, and then my face felt like it had been set on fire. The witch clawed my face and then chose to pepper-spray me. I'd be lying if I said that through all the pain, I wasn't incredibly confused. I had no idea why catching her cheating would result in me being assaulted both physically and chemically.
I'm a tough guy, but in that moment, I was a wuss. That's the worst pain that I have ever felt. It was like I could not breathe. I almost wanted to tear my face off.
I managed to fight my way to the bathroom to wash my face with plenty of soap and water, but it didn't stop burning. The spray had gotten into the scratches, and it was killing me. I must have spent thirty minutes just running my face under the shower. It felt like that to me.
I could not even be concerned about what she was doing during that time. Though, with how erratic that behavior had been, she could have been getting a knife and I would have been defenseless. When I heard sirens, I hoped that one of the neighbors had heard some kind of ruckus and decided to intervene. At that point, I still felt like everything was fine.
It was not fine. I wanted to see what was going on, but I kept washing my face. I only stopped when I heard someone shout, "Police!" I made them aware of where I was in the house, and they eventually came in and saw me. I explained that I had been pepper sprayed.
They asked if I needed EMS, and I said, "Yes," because I thought I was not going to be able to see anymore. I couldn't even try to open the eye that hurt. A lot of that was a blur, but I know that I had to step outside with the police and I sat on a curb somewhere. They asked me a lot of questions and I answered them all truthfully.
I mentioned forgetting something at home, finding a man in my closet, and Maya attacking me. I even mentioned that I had gotten in her face and shoved her with full force, which I know would not make me seem very flattering, but everything I said was the truth, exactly as it happened. Eventually, EMS came and I had my face washed for what felt like half an hour. Thankfully, by the end of it, I did feel much better.
I did not feel perfectly back to normal, but I could manage to open my eyes for some time before they started to sting. They looked at my scratched eye and recommended that I be taken to the hospital. They suspected it was just a corneal scratch and I was not going to lose my vision or anything, which was very relieving for me to hear. The last thing I want is to go blind in one eye because my wife cheated on me.
What a story that would be though. The EMS decided to take me to the hospital before things were fully concluded. I learned later that Maya claimed she needed to go to the hospital, but besides a large bruise on her back, she was perfectly fine. There were no broken bones or anything.
I had my eye checked by a specialist and I was glad to know that I was going to be fine. Police officers had come to the hospital to conclude their investigation. They asked me a few more questions and my story never changed, not once. That wasn't the case with Maya.
She had to paint it like I was the aggressor and the scratches and pepper spray didn't seem to agree with that. She told them that I grabbed her tightly by the arms. She managed to free herself, and that was when she scratched me, so I pushed her. Then, according to her, I managed to grab onto her as she tried to escape.
Supposedly, I grabbed her by the throat, which was the only reason why she chose to spray me. The story didn't line up. There were not any injuries to her neck or arms, no bruising, despite her claims that I had grabbed her. They wanted to know how she got to the pepper spray and she claimed it had just happened to be within reach.
The first time they asked, she claimed that she had picked it up from the dresser before running past me. My story lined up with her injuries and mine. The fact that they found a lot of pepper spray residue on the bed frame where I was sitting when I was recovering from the injury showed that she was lying. Not only was she lying to law enforcement, but she was deemed the aggressor in the case of domestic violence.
If I was not in the hospital, I would have had the satisfaction of seeing her taken away. But I did not get that chance, sadly. I got to go home later that day and it was eerie entering the home that late without her being around and knowing everything that had happened earlier that day. I have to say that it did not even feel real for the most part.
It felt like some sort of dream, but my face was not back to normal, so I knew that it was real. She got bailed out the next morning, which was not a surprise. But she obviously was not allowed to contact me, so she was out of a house. She had to stay with her parents.
I'm sure they were really happy to know their daughter was a domestic abuser. I'm a big guy. If she had her story straight, do you understand that it is very likely I would have ended up in jail? She had tried to get me arrested after I caught her cheating.
She did not want to give me the chance to confront her properly. She did not want to be accountable. So, her first move was to win by getting me tossed in jail? How does that even make sense?
My eye is much better now, thankfully, but it was a pretty traumatizing experience for me. I'm glad it is in the past now. Obviously, we're going to get divorced. I need that to happen as soon as possible.
I do not want anything to do with this woman any longer. Update. I didn't think there was going to be anything else for me to say in this matter of Maya and myself that I detailed in my last post. I am back to full form now.
My face is much better and my eye has healed fine. I am back at work and it has been long enough that my guys at work can tease me about what I went through. I have got thick skin for the most part, so that is fine by me. Now, I just need to give you the conclusion to everything that happened.
The first thing is that we ended up getting divorced. That was a given. There was not any way in any reality that I was going to end up still married to her after everything that happened. The divorce was straightforward.
I got the house, she got alimony. We split the rest of it. That was okay by me. I knew it was going to turn out that way, at least for the broad strokes of it.
As for her case, she ended up getting charged with aggravated domestic battery. However, her lawyer did his best to get her to avoid actual jail time because she was a first-time offender and all that. She has a suspended sentence, though. Even if she doesn't actually go to jail, she has a record and that means a lot.
In fact, that's exactly why I was able to get my actual revenge. She simply can't be an educator with that kind of criminal record. She knows that, but she managed to somehow keep things under wraps from her employer. I knew that I had to do the right thing.
I did what any upstanding citizen would do. So, I made sure to write a letter to her employer to let them know that someone who would be around children had a history of violent behavior. The reason why it feels so good to do that to her is because I know how passionate she is about her career. She's always wanted to be in education.
She had the chance to build a really rewarding career, but she ruined it with actions outside of her work. But actions that deserve to reflect on her work and her happiness. I'm glad I had the power to ruin that for her. She got let go pretty quickly.
The thing is, I did not even get the full extent of how it pissed her off because she is not allowed to contact me. I know she was fuming. She did try to reach out to me, and she tried to be smart about it. Her mom called me and I picked up, but it happened to be her.
She was screaming and shouting, but through it, I reminded her that she was not allowed to contact me. Before I could try to record it, she had hung up. I will have a hard time trying to prove she had called me and not her mom, so I let it go. Her career is gone, and she has a criminal record.
All of this was because I caught her cheating, and trust me when I say that I made sure to let everyone who needed to know about what happened know about it. Mutual friends, her relatives who would listen, and all of our neighbors. I did not want rumors. I prefer the truth to be out there.
It is rough. I did not even get to process being cheated on the way most people would. I find that a little funny. Things just got so crazy after that, but that is fine.
I just have to learn from that experience. There was nothing I could do any better. I didn't handle things in a bad way. I even let her affair partner leave, but in the end, karma came for her, not me, and that is how things should be.
