Master P Builds Custom Wheelchairs for Kids with Disabilities

Master P Partners with Local Nonprofit to Gift Custom Wheelchairs for Kids in New Orleans

We love this!

When it comes to giving back, Master P has always led with heart — and this time, he’s helping kids move too, in the most literal way possible.

The hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur recently teamed up with Make Good NOLA, a New Orleans–based nonprofit organization, to design and distribute custom wheelchairs for children with disabilities. Each chair is unique, tailored for comfort, and styled with bright colors and inspiring details that reflect each child’s personality. The goal, according to organizers, is to help every child “move with pride, independence, and confidence.”

A Mission That Rolls With Love

The collaboration between Master P (born Percy Miller) and Make Good NOLA is part of an ongoing citywide initiative to support youth empowerment and disability inclusion (NOLA.com). Photos shared by the nonprofit show smiling children trying out their new wheels — some decked out in superhero themes, others painted with vibrant local designs.

“This isn’t about charity,” said a Make Good NOLA representative in a statement. “It’s about dignity. Every kid deserves to move freely and to feel proud of who they are.”

For Master P, it’s another chance to serve the community that raised him. “New Orleans made me who I am,” he told People in an earlier interview. “If I can help even one child see themselves as powerful, that’s what success looks like to me.”

More Than Music: A Legacy of Giving

While many know Master P as a hip-hop pioneer and the founder of No Limit Records, his reputation in recent years has become just as tied to philanthropy and youth development. Through his Team Hope Foundation, the rapper-turned-entrepreneur has organized toy drives, donated to schools, and provided mentorship programs for at-risk youth across Louisiana (USA Today).

During the pandemic, Master P also launched initiatives to feed families, help small businesses, and donate essential supplies to frontline workers (BET News). In 2022, he helped rebuild basketball courts in underserved neighborhoods and offered scholarships for young athletes.

“Success is nothing if you don’t give back,” Master P said during an interview with The Source. “I want to show these kids that no matter where you come from, you can be a blessing to others.”

Empowering Kids Through Movement

The wheelchair initiative, Make Good NOLA’s latest collaboration, emphasizes mobility as a form of freedom and confidence for children with disabilities. Each chair was built to ensure both physical comfort and emotional joy — a design process that included feedback from families, therapists, and the kids themselves (NOLA.com).

The project’s launch event, hosted at a local recreation center, turned into a community celebration. Parents described the moment as “life-changing,” watching their children race, laugh, and move independently for the first time in months.

One mother told USA Today: “My son got his first chair that really feels like him. It’s bright blue, it’s fast, and it makes him smile. That’s everything.”

A Quiet Reminder That Impact Doesn’t Have to Be Loud

For Master P, the most rewarding part isn’t the headlines — it’s the quiet joy that ripples through families.

“Sometimes impact isn’t about being loud,” he said in a short video clip shared on Instagram. “It’s about rolling up with love and doing something that lasts.”

The partnership with Make Good NOLA reinforces Master P’s belief that true leadership means service. His latest effort proves once again that generosity can take many forms — sometimes it walks, sometimes it runs, and sometimes, it rolls on custom wheels painted with hope.
