Why Put a Roll of Toilet Paper in the Refrigerator?
The refrigerator is an indispensable appliance in every household. It regularly stores a wide variety of foods, from raw ingredients to cooked meals, including food, drinks, and fruits and vegetables. Because of this, refrigerators can easily develop unpleasant odors, which are often very difficult to eliminate.
Many people try wiping the fridge with cloths or using different cleaning methods, yet the smell still lingers. No matter what they do, the odor doesn’t completely go away, which can be quite frustrating. Sometimes, people simply have to live with a smelly refrigerator.
In fact, there is a very simple trick to solve this annoying problem: just place a roll of toilet paper anywhere inside the refrigerator and close the door. After a few days, you’ll notice that the bad odors inside the fridge have disappeared.
Toilet paper has strong odor-absorbing properties. When placed in the refrigerator, it quickly absorbs odor-causing particles in the surrounding air. These particles become trapped in the paper and can no longer spread. In addition, toilet paper is soft and breathable, which helps it absorb and neutralize odors more effectively.

Other Handy Uses of Toilet Paper in the Refrigerator
Besides deodorizing, toilet paper can be useful in several other ways in the refrigerator. For example, when you need to remove frost buildup from the freezer walls, first wipe the freezer compartment dry, then apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the inner surfaces. When frost forms again, simply use toilet paper to wipe it off and reapply the oil. This method is quick, easy, and requires little effort.
Additionally, you can slightly dampen some toilet paper and place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes. After that, use it to clean your phone screen or computer keyboard—it helps reduce static electricity and remove dust effectively.
