Secret of the small hole in the knife

According to the physical explanation, the main purpose of designing the round holes on the knife is to "absorb shock". When we use the knife to handle some tasks such as cutting meat or bones, the kitchen knife is subjected to a very strong impact force. If there is no way to disperse that pressure, the blade is very easy to break and also makes our grip difficult. At that time, this small round hole allows the back and front of the knife to bear the force evenly, thereby helping to protect and increase the life of the knife.
1. Storage and drainage
After using the kitchen knife, you need to wash it to remove oil stains and stains on the surface. There will be a lot of water stains left on the knife after cleaning. If placed directly on a wooden cutting board, it will easily cause mold. Moreover, the kitchen knife is also at risk of rusting if left wet for a long time.
At this time, the hole on the knife plays its role as an easy knife hanging function. This also helps drain water quickly, so the knife will not rust. Not to mention, hanging the knife above also helps the kitchen become cleaner and tidier.
2. Remove the snail tail
Snails are a special delicacy, but snails sold in restaurants cause concerns about hygiene and food safety. Therefore, many people choose to buy fresh snails and bring them home to cook.
However, how to remove the snail tail is a difficult problem. Many people say that they use scissors to cut, but this is not only time-consuming and laborious, but also easy to hurt the hand.
3. Remove the seeds
In autumn and winter, many people like to use red dates to cook some health-enhancing porridges. Especially for women, eating dates is very good for the body.
However, red date seeds are very hard and difficult to remove. If you use scissors to cut directly, the pulp will easily remain on the date seeds. Not only is it time-consuming and troublesome, but it is also wasteful.
In fact, we can use the round hole on the knife to do this job. The method is very simple, you put the red date on the cutting board, then press the top of the fruit through this hole. Next, use your hand to pull out the date seed and it's done.
4. Meat Mincing Support
In the absence of a meat grinder, you will have to slice and mince the meat "vegetarian". However, the meat slicer is usually quite heavy and if you have to mince meat for a long time, your hand will get very tired.
Here is a good tip for you: find a chopstick and poke it through the small hole on the knife. Holding the knife in one hand and the chopsticks in the other hand will make mincing the meat much easier. Even if you chop continuously for half an hour, your wrist will not feel tired.
