'Hello, Love, Again' sets record for Filipino film in U

"Hello, Love, Again" once again made history with its opening weekend in the United States.

The Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards starrer now holds the record for the highest opening weekend for a Filipino film in the US, with $2.4 million gross and a no. 8 spot, entertainment website Deadline reported on Sunday.

It noted that Abramorama, in collaboration with AJMC (Amorette Jones Media Consulting), released the romantic movie in 248 locations across the US and Canada.

ABS-CBN Films and GMA Pictures’ movie "saw strong turnout and engagement across key markets driven by a robust campaign by AJMC designed to engage core Filipino-American audiences while broadening its appeal to Asian-American, Hispanic, and general moviegoers," the Deadline reported.

"The campaign leveraged the strong fan base of Bernardo and Richards, along with strategic partnerships with platforms like ABS-CBN’s TFC and Cinema One, creating a cohesive push across digital and social media," the report added.

In the Philippines, "Hello, Love, Again" also set a record for the widest domestic release and earned P245 million in its first tree days.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, "Hello, Love, Again" is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye".

On November 21, the movie will be shown in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
