The security camera footage would later show exactly what happened that day, but it sparked a fire that still hasn't gone out.
It begins with shaky body cam footage as two uniformed officers approach a Black man standing on his front porch: keys in one hand, a messenger bag slung over his shoulder. He's just opened the door when they start shouting. No greeting, no explanation, just immediate demands. He turns, startled. Within seconds, one of them lunges.
The man stumbles backward as both officers force him to the ground. His head hits the concrete steps. His kids scream from the doorway.
A neighbor's voice cuts in: "That's his house! What are you doing?"
