At that moment, Agent Sullivan burst through the station's front doors, followed by three other agents in dark suits. Their muscular frames and professional demeanor immediately commanded attention from everyone in the lobby. The fluorescent lighting reflected off their earpieces as they approached the front desk.

"We need to speak with whoever's in charge immediately," Agent Sullivan announced, his voice carrying the authority of federal law enforcement.

The desk sergeant, a middle-aged man in an orange shirt and blue jacket, nervously pointed toward Captain Langley's office. "The captain's office is down that hall, sir."

Meanwhile, Governor Arthur Pennington's convoy was racing through the city streets: three black SUVs with tinted windows and flashing lights cutting through traffic. Inside the lead vehicle, the governor was making urgent phone calls to the mayor, the police commissioner, and the district attorney.

"I don't care what meetings you have to cancel," he barked into his secure phone. "Get to that police station now! One of my top security officials has been illegally detained, and heads are going to roll."

Back at the station, Agent Sullivan confronted Captain Langley in his office while Detective Park stood witness to the unfolding drama.

"Captain, we need Lydia Monroe released immediately. She's conducting authorized government business, and her detention is a federal matter," Agent Sullivan stated firmly, presenting his credentials.

Captain Langley's face went pale as he examined the federal identification. "Agent Sullivan, I've been trying to resolve this situation, but the arresting officer is refusing to listen to reason."

"Where is this officer?" Agent Sullivan demanded.
