Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has revealed the joyful news that she is officially engaged to her long-term partner, professional footballer Ryan Ledson. The actress, who rose to fame portraying Bethany Platt on the iconic ITV soap, was visibly emotional as she shared the announcement with fans on Sunday (November 16), marking a milestone moment in both her personal life and her birthday weekend celebrations.
Lucy and Ryan, who are proud parents to their two children — Sonny and Nancy — have been together since 2021. Their romance began during the Covid lockdown period after Lucy’s split from ex-boyfriend Tom Leech, with the pair initially connecting through the exclusive celebrity dating app Raya. Their relationship soon blossomed, becoming public in June 2021 and growing stronger through both heartbreak and happiness.
In September 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together — a touching moment that arrived six months after Lucy sadly suffered a miscarriage at seven weeks during a private scan. The loss was devastating for the actress, who later described it as one of the hardest emotional experiences of her life. Their son Sonny was born in February 2023, followed by baby Nancy earlier this year, completing their beautiful family of four.
Now, Lucy and Ryan have taken the next step in their love story. During Lucy’s 30th birthday celebrations, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed — a moment Lucy captured in a series of heartfelt photos posted to Instagram. In one emotional selfie, she holds up her hand to show off the huge, sparkling engagement ring, tears of joy welling in her eyes as Ryan smiles beside her. Another image shows her in a chic restaurant, raising a glass while proudly displaying the impressive ring on her finger.
In an excited caption, Lucy wrote:
“Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé!!! I can’t wait to marry you @ryanledson8.”
Her comments section quickly exploded with love and support from friends, fans, and famous faces across the soap world.
