"I do not," Haskins said. "They were logged afterward."
"By whom?"
"Property division."
"Can you confirm that they were reported stolen?"
"I believe so."
"You believe?"
Haskins hesitated. "That is what I was told."
Elijah stepped aside and lifted another document. "According to this receipt from the electronics store three blocks from our house, my brother purchased those laptops two days earlier using his own debit card."
Haskins stared at the paper. Lindholm stood.
"Objection, Your Honor. I was not provided with this during discovery."
"You did not ask," Elijah replied, meeting her gaze. "Because you assumed he was guilty."
Tolbert raised a hand. "Enough. Let me see the document."
Elijah carried it to the bench, calm and steady. Tolbert adjusted his glasses and read it. No emotion appeared on his face, but something flickered behind his eyes. Lindholm slowly sat down.
From the third row, someone whispered, "That boy came with receipts."
Elijah was not finished. "I would like to call my next witness, Mr. Travis Dent."
