Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz share Fletchers’ Family Farm update as they admit they’re ‘expecting’ little lambs
Kelvin Fletcher and Wife Liz Share Big News From Their Expanding Farm
Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have delighted fans by sharing a major update from their beloved farm, revealing that their four-legged family will soon be growing again. The couple, who have become unexpected stars of the farming world, continue to document their rural life on ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm, inviting viewers into the highs, lows and daily surprises of life on a working farm. From City Living to 120 Acres in the Peak District
Two years ago, the former Emmerdale actor and 2019 Strictly Come Dancing champion made the bold decision with his wife Liz to swap their busy lives in Oldham for a 120-acre farm in the Peak District. Since then, their journey has been followed with admiration as they navigated steep learning curves, unpredictable livestock and the reality of hands-on farm work. Their ITV programme is now in its third series, and viewers have grown attached to the family’s candid storytelling and resilience. (Source: The Guardian)
Earlier this year, the family were forced to evacuate their home after a fire tore through the property while they were away — a frightening ordeal that left parts of the home badly damaged. Kelvin later described the incident as “a nightmare for any family,” but he also praised the local fire service for their swift response. (Source: BBC News)
Now, after months of rebuilding, the couple have reassured fans that their home and farm operations are running smoothly once again — and that even better news is on the horizon.
The Fletchers Prepare for New Lambs in Spring
Appearing on Lorraine (November 13), Kelvin and Liz gave viewers an upbeat update about life after the fire and what lies ahead for them. Liz explained that despite the shock of the blaze, they approached the aftermath with determination: “You’ve just got to keep carrying on and we have done,” she said. “We’ve expanded on the cows, we’ve expanded on the sheep.”
Kelvin then teased a piece of news that excited farming fans everywhere. “Speaking of sheep, this is now mating season, as you mentioned before,” he said with a laugh, quickly adding: “I have to be clear, that’s not me and Liz — that is for the sheep!”
He went on to explain that they are currently preparing their tups — male sheep — for the breeding season. “We’re already looking ahead to springtime, when we will be expecting some lambs,” Kelvin said. “The important time now is getting our male sheep ready to go out there and meet the females.”
This update confirms that the farm will be welcoming new arrivals early next year, something the couple described as “one of the best parts of farm life.”
Resilience After a Challenging Year
This positive news follows a difficult period for the Fletchers. Earlier in the year, they experienced heartbreak during lambing season when one of their ewes delivered triplets but tragically lost the first lamb due to complications. The remaining two survived thanks to Kelvin and Liz’s constant care, and the pair later said they were “deeply grateful” to have saved them. (Source: GB News, Entertainment Daily)
The couple have often been praised for showing the true reality of farming — not just the pretty countryside scenes, but the demanding emotional and physical labour behind the scenes. Farming reporters have noted that their show offers a particularly authentic look into the unpredictable challenges facing new farmers. (Source: Country & Town House)
A Growing Future for the Fletchers’ Family Farm
Despite everything, Kelvin and Liz remain fully committed to their new life. They have previously spoken about their long-term plans to expand the farm, introduce new livestock breeds and experiment with more sustainable farming practices. ITV producers have confirmed that the couple are already developing ideas for future episodes and further projects linked to the farm. (Source: ITV Press Pack)
As spring approaches, the arrival of their new lambs will mark yet another milestone in their remarkable journey from actors and presenters to full-time farmers. For now, fans are simply thrilled to see the family thriving — and eagerly awaiting the next chapter of their farming adventure.
