Meet 102-Year-Old Eloise Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles Biggest and Longtime Fan

This Story Will Melt Every Eagles Fan’s Heart

Some fans are loyal — and then there’s Eloise Brown.

At 102 years old, this proud Philadelphia native has been rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles for longer than most fans have been alive — in fact, longer than the team itself has existed. Born in 1922, a full 11 years before the Eagles were founded in 1933, Brown has spent decades watching her favorite team rise, fall, and rise again. She’s lived through 17 division titles, multiple Super Bowl appearances, and, of course, the team’s unforgettable Super Bowl LII victory in 2018 over the New England Patriots (The Philadelphia Inquirer).

“Plenty of times, they frustrate me,” Brown admitted with a laugh during her interview, squeezing a football-shaped stress ball as she spoke. “But I’m gonna be happy Sunday,” she added, flashing a smile that could light up Lincoln Financial Field.

A Lifetime of Loyalty

Eloise’s fandom began in the 1960s, when she first started watching games on TV from her family’s living room. “Once I started watching, I couldn’t stop,” she told CBS News Philadelphia. Over the years, her love for the Birds only grew stronger — and contagious. Her massive family now spans four generations, including 27 grandchildren, more than 50 great-grandchildren, and over 20 great-great-grandchildren, many of whom have proudly followed in her footsteps as die-hard Eagles supporters.

“She’s the biggest fan I know,” said one of her great-granddaughters. “Every Sunday, you’ll find her in her chair, snacks ready, wearing her Eagles gear — and don’t even think about changing the channel!” (NBC Sports Philadelphia).

A Birthday to Remember

To celebrate her 102nd birthday, Brown attended her fifth Eagles game this fall — and it was one she’ll never forget. Wearing a Kelly green Eagles jersey, matching earrings, and her favorite team hat, she was greeted with open arms by players, staff, and fans alike. The Eagles’ team president personally presented her with a custom jersey featuring her name and age on the back, and several players stopped to sign it after the game.

“She was smiling the entire time,” one team spokesperson told People Magazine. “We wanted to honor her loyalty — fans like Ms. Brown are what make this franchise special.”

The celebration became even sweeter when the Eagles beat their longtime rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, that same day. “That was the best birthday present I could’ve asked for,” Brown said, laughing.

Still Soaring at 102

Despite her age, Brown remains as passionate and sharp as ever. She keeps up with player stats, knows the team’s history inside and out, and even has opinions about recent trades. “I think Jalen Hurts is doing a wonderful job,” she said. “He’s young, but he’s got a good head on his shoulders. He reminds me of Randall Cunningham — that same kind of spirit.”

When asked how she manages to keep her energy up during long games, Brown grinned: “Snacks and prayer — and I don’t miss a play!”

Her family says she’s already preparing for the next big matchup as the Eagles face off against the Washington Commanders this Sunday, with hopes of pushing closer to another Super Bowl appearance.

“She’s got her wings ready,” her granddaughter joked. “We all know not to bother her during the game. It’s serious business!”

A Century of Faith, Family, and Football

In a city known for its passionate sports culture, Brown has become something of a local legend — a living embodiment of what it means to “Bleed Green.” Her story has captured hearts far beyond Philadelphia, inspiring fans across the country with her energy, humor, and steadfast loyalty.

When asked what keeps her cheering after all these years, she didn’t hesitate: “I love my Eagles. Always have, always will. They’re my team — win or lose.”

From black-and-white TVs to streaming on smartphones, Eloise Brown has watched nearly a century of football history unfold — and she’s not slowing down yet.

As the Eagles gear up for their next big game, one thing’s certain: somewhere in Philadelphia, a 102-year-old fan will be cheering louder than anyone else.
