Ruby Rodriguez reveals she kept job hunting in the U.S. a secret from Eat Bulaga!
Ruby Rodriguez revealed that she did not inform before the noontime show Eat Bulaga!his job search in the U.S.
Ruby has been working as a staff member at the Philippine Consulate Office in Los Angeles, California for almost two years now.
Originally, he was scheduled to start working at the Philippine Consulate in April 2020, but the pandemic happened.
Ruby flew to the U.S. in May 2021 and then started a new job.
Prior to this, Ruby co-hosted the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! for 31 years.
In an interview with her by U.S.-based Filipina host Jannelle So that appeared on YouTube on March 6, 2024, Ruby shared how she searched for and got a job in the U.S.
RUBY APPLIES FOR A JOB
Ruby did not hide that the primary reason why she went to America, with her entire family, was to treat her youngest son who has special needs.
He had to find a job there to support them when they migrated.
Ruby said she kept this plan a secret.
He said, "I kept quiet. It's my private life. This is private.
"I was quiet about it because you don't know what will happen, okay. That's why I kept quiet.
"If it is pushed through, they will know. If it doesn't push through, no harm done. Image intact.”
He also said that he did not inform his co-workers at Eat Bulaga!, except for his best friend, Pauleen Luna.
"They didn't know. They didn't know," Ruby emphasized.
"The only person who knew what I was doing that's in this business was Pauleen Luna because she's my best friend.
"And I know she'll keep quiet about it."
Although Pauleen was sad, she did not stop Ruby from what she was doing for her son.
It is said that Ruby was received at the Philippine Consulate Office in L.A. in 2019.
Ruby then flew to the U.S. for his interview. He was asked if he could start working on January 1, 2020.
It is said that Ruby pleaded that she will start working in April 2020 because she still needs to say goodbye to her coworkers at the noontime show, especially her producer Tony Tuviera or Mr. T
Ruby's story, "I said, 'I'm just going to say goodbye formally to our producer so I won't be put on the spot.'"
PANDEMIC HAPPENED
Returning to the Philippines, Ruby talked to Mr. T and his goodbye is "indefinite leave."
It was also written in PEP.ph that Mr. It always has a home to come back to at Eat Bulaga!.
Ruby's April 5, 2020 departure was not possible, because March had a worldwide lockdown due to the pandemic.
Ruby was also not pressured by her new job to fly to the U.S. because of the situation then.
Because of the skeletal workforce, Ruby was one of those who were not called to return to Eat Bulaga!.
It was also written that Ruby was upset because she was not invited back to the noontime show.
He accepted the teleserye Owe My Love at the beginning of 2021 and ended it to get a job and while waiting for his flight to the U.S.
Ruby's departure to the U.S. continued. in May 2021.
"When they [U.S.] fully opened, I got an email, 'Can you come now?' I said, 'Okay.' Around April, I booked a ticket and arrived May 2021.
"Then there was also, before you go to work, quarantine for ten days.
"I did that and on the tenth day, I went to work. That's how it started."
Aside from her regular job, Ruby continues to receive corporate events in America so she is still able to perform.
