Save this for when you need it: How to cure 46 diseases with medicine-free tips

After many years of research and exploring traditional folk remedies, Professor Nguyễn Lân Dũng has compiled 46 effective disease treatment tips without using medication to pass on to the people.

1. Dust or mosquitoes flying into the eyes, causing burning sensation:

Do not rub your eyes, as it may damage the cornea. Just stick out your tongue and lick the corners of your lips a few times; tears will be stimulated and wash the foreign object out of the eye! Remember one rule: If the right eye is affected, lick the left corner of the lip, and vice versa.

2. Inability to fully close one eye:

When one eye cannot close tightly (often due to facial nerve paralysis – cranial nerve VII), apply moxa (mugwort heat therapy) to the area corresponding to the opposite eye. Apply heat multiple times a day, each time for a few minutes; the eye will gradually be able to close fully.

3. Nasal congestion:

No matter how long or how severely your nose has been blocked, just apply moxa to the nose reflex zone located on the forehead—from the center of the forehead (point 103) to the ends of the eyebrows (point 26). After about one minute, the nose will clear immediately. It's like a miracle that is hard to believe.

4. Shoulder pain, unable to raise the arm:

Use the tip of your index finger to tap several dozen times on the eyebrow point (point 65) on the same side as the pain. The shoulder pain will disappear, and the arm can be lifted again immediately.

5. Sprained wrist or dislocated wrist joint:

Stay calm and use the index finger to firmly tap several dozen times at the area near the eyebrow on the same side as the injury. The wrist will return to normal. To locate the exact tapping point, gently run your finger along the eyebrow until you feel a slight indentation—this is the correct point (point 100), which reflects the wrist.

6. Sprained ankle joint (ankle dislocation):

If the ankle joint on one side is dislocated or sprained, apply moxa to the wrist area on the same side. Even if the ankle has been in pain for days, it will heal within minutes. National athletes and professional football players should remember this technique to treat themselves and help others.

7. Leg muscle cramps (charley horse):

Use the wrist (the rounded back of your wrist area) to press and rub firmly on the upper arm muscle (bicep) several dozen times. The cramp will stop immediately. Remember: if the leg on one side is cramping, rub the arm on the same side.

8. Heel pain (heel spur):

Apply moxa precisely to the reflex point corresponding to the heel on the opposite side. After just a few minutes, the heel pain will disappear completely. Be very careful as the area can easily blister from the heat if not cautious.

9. Knee pain:

Apply moxa to the elbow area (same side as the painful knee). After just a few minutes, the knee pain will vanish immediately.

10. Constipation for many days:

Use your index and middle fingers to roll around your mouth area for about 2–3 minutes (around 200 rotations); constipation will be relieved.

Rolling technique:
Start from the right corner of the mouth, roll upward along the upper lip to the left corner, then roll down to the center of the lower lip and straight down to the chin mound (forming a large question-mark shape covering 3/4 of the mouth area). Remember: rolling from right to left promotes bowel movement and relieves constipation. If you roll from left to right, it may worsen constipation!

11. Headache

a. Any headache in any part of the head—whether new or long-lasting, severe or mild—can be relieved simply by applying moxa to the back of the left hand (with the hand clenched) for a few minutes. The headache will disappear immediately. Try it and see!

b. If the right side of the head is aching, apply moxa to the right half of the back of the hand.

c. If the left side is aching, apply moxa to the left half of the back of the hand.

d. If the pain is at the back of the neck, apply moxa to the upper wrist area.

e. If the pain is at the top (crown) of the head, apply moxa to the highest knuckle ridge of the middle finger.

f. If the pain is located in the temple area, just apply moxa to the opposite temple for 1 minute; the pain will vanish immediately.

g. If both sides of the head are in pain, alternate the moxa between both sides.

h. If the pain is in the forehead, apply moxa to the last joints of the four fingers (not including the thumb) while the fist is clenched.

i. If the pain is only in the right half of the forehead, apply moxa to two fingers on the right hand.

k. If the pain is only in the left half of the forehead, apply moxa to two fingers on the left hand.

l. If the pain is in the center of the forehead, apply moxa to the two middle fingers for 1 minute; the pain will stop immediately.

m. If the pain surrounds the entire head, apply moxa around the entire back of the hand.

12. Insomnia

Regardless of the reason for insomnia, remember not to use sleeping pills as they are both expensive and harmful. A simple method to fall asleep naturally is:

  • Before sleep, rub both soles of the feet until warm. Warm feet mean a warm abdomen and a warm body. This is the first essential condition for good sleep.

  • Then, use the tip of the middle finger on the left hand to tap acupoint An Thần (also known in facial reflexology as point 26, located at the inner end of the eyebrows) for a few minutes. This will stabilize the heart rate and calm the mind.

Explanation:

  • The left hand corresponds to the heart.

  • The middle fingertip corresponds to the head.
When the heart and mind are at peace, deep sleep naturally follows.

13. Abdominal bloating (due to poor digestion)

  • If at home: use moxa to apply heat to the navel and around the navel area for a few minutes. The abdomen will gradually flatten.

  • If at a party or in public: discreetly rub the upper lip area for a while; gas will be released, and the bloating will disappear immediately!

14. Urinary retention (difficulty urinating)

Whether for adults or children:

  • Calmly stroke the chin area for a few minutes to relieve urinary retention.

  • Technique: place the thumb under the chin and use the index finger to stroke from the chin mound downward repeatedly. The bladder will be “unlocked,” and urine will flow naturally.

According to facial reflexology, the chin mound (point 87) reflects the bladder.

Tip:
Elderly people who wake up frequently at night to urinate, or children who wet the bed, should gently stroke their chin 15 minutes before sleeping. These conditions will improve rapidly.

15. Hiccups

This is a common condition but causes much discomfort, interfering with eating and sleeping. Some people even stay in the hospital for many days without relief. Just perform one of the following techniques; hiccups will stop immediately:

a. Use the tip of the index finger to tap firmly about 15 times on the point located between the eyebrows at the root of the nose (points 26 and 312). Hiccups will disappear miraculously. (Point 26 calms the mind; point 312 clears nasal blockage.)

b. Use the index fingertip to stroke firmly from the left side of the nose down along the nasal wing 10–15 times. Hiccups will vanish immediately.

c. Use the four fingers (from index to little finger held together) and stroke vertically along the midline of the head (from the forehead upward to the crown) about 15 times. This will stop hiccups completely!

16. Abdominal Pain

You can quickly relieve abdominal pain using one of the following simple methods:

a. Apply moxa (mugwort heat) to both palms for about 10 minutes.

b. Apply moxa to both soles of the feet for about 10 minutes.

c. Apply moxa to the navel and massage around the mouth area.

17. Uterine Pain

a. Scratch along the philtrum (the groove between the nose and upper lip) from top (near the nose) to bottom (near the lip) multiple times.

b. Scratch along both edges of the philtrum and the upper lip multiple times.

18. Penile pain

Simply apply moxa to the tip of the nose for about 1 minute; the penile pain will stop.

19. Hip joint pain

Scratch and apply moxa along the edge of the nasal wing for a while. The hip joint pain will disappear.
Note: If the pain is in the hip on one side, scratch the nostril edge on the same side.

20. Heel pain

Apply moxa and tap on the heel on the opposite side for a few minutes. The painful heel will stop hurting immediately.

21. Menstrual cramps (painful periods):

Gently rub the upper lip area for a few minutes. Menstrual abdominal pain will stop immediately.

22. Coughing with throat irritation:

a. Rub the two wrists against each other multiple times.

(Important: Both hands must be clenched into fists before rubbing the wrists together.)

b. Apply moxa to the inner wrist of the left hand (while the left hand is clenched) for a few minutes. The cough and throat irritation will quickly disappear.

Note:

  • When the left hand is clenched with the back of the hand facing up: the back of the hand reflects the brain, and the wrist reflects the neck.

  • When the left hand is clenched with the palm facing up: the palm reflects the heart, and the wrist reflects the throat.

23. High blood pressure:

Use the tip of the little finger to press deeply into the acupoint (point 15) located behind the left ear, in the recessed area, multiple times (about 1 minute). Blood pressure will drop immediately.

24. Low blood pressure:

Also use the tip of the little finger to press deeply into the acupoint (point 19) located at the philtrum near the nose, multiple times. Blood pressure will increase immediately.

25. Nasal bleeding (epistaxis):

Place the tips of two fingers — the index and middle fingers — on either side of the lips and rub them together across the lips for a while. The nosebleed will stop.

26. Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation):

Use a large rolling tool (or your hands) to roll downward from the navel to the groin area until the lower abdomen becomes warm.
Do this several times a day; after about 3–5 days, menstruation will return to normal.

27. Stye on the eye (eyelid swelling):

Just press on the base of the stye several times; the swelling will drain very quickly.
Note: The earlier you detect and treat it, the faster it heals!

28. Facial paralysis (Peripheral facial nerve – Cranial nerve VII):

This condition is characterized by:

  • One eye that cannot close completely

  • One side of the mouth drooping

The treatment is extremely simple—so effective that it seems unbelievable. Recovery can occur as fast as 3 days, and typically within 7 days.

a. Use moxa (mugwort heat) to apply to the healthy eye area for several minutes; meanwhile, the affected eye will gradually begin to close. Do this several times a day.

b. Use your hand or a small roller tool to roll diagonally from the drooping corner of the mouth upward toward the top of the ear. Roll several times a day, each time for a few minutes. Soon, the mouth will be pulled back to a balanced position.

29. Eye cannot move (paralysis of eye movement):

Just tap several dozen times on the acupoint located in front and slightly below the ear lobe. The eye will begin moving normally again.

Location: This point is in the depression right next to the ear. When you open your mouth, you can feel it immediately. This is point number 0 in facial reflexology and also corresponds to the “Thính Hội” point in traditional Chinese medicine.

30. Bitter taste in the mouth:

Use the tip of your index finger to tap firmly several dozen times on the depressed point located right below the lower lip (point 235). The bitterness will disappear immediately!

31. Severe facial and jaw pain (Trigeminal neuralgia – Cranial nerve V):

Use moxa (mugwort heat therapy) to apply along the outside of the thumb (on the same side as the pain), from the thumb tip down to the base of the thumb near the wrist.
Note: The hand must be opened with the palm facing up.
After just a few minutes, the stiffness and pain in the jaw and face will gradually ease and return to normal.

32. Continuous sneezing:

Apply moxa in a straight line starting from the center of the forehead (point 103) down to the midpoint between the eyebrows (point 26). Sneezing will stop within one minute.

33. Persistent dry cough for many days:

Apply moxa to the following areas:

  • Both sides of the nose (nasal wings)

  • Both sides of the ears (from the top of the ear down to the earlobe)

  • The inner wrist (of the left hand, with the hand clenched)

  • Directly to the throat

Doing so will relieve dry cough very quickly.

34. Choking (with fruit seeds or bones):

Press or tap repeatedly on the acupoint located at the upper end of the philtrum (point 19). The obstruction will clear.

35. Difficulty bending or straightening finger joints:

Apply moxa along the top of the finger joints (the bone area) and roll or massage the joints multiple times. The stiffness will gradually disappear.

36. Dark circles under the eyes:

Apply moxa directly to the eyes. The dark circles will gradually fade.

37. Drowsiness or drooping eyelids:

Rub or pinch both ears simultaneously. This will immediately make you alert and eliminate sleepiness.

38. Sneezing (single or occasional):

Use the tip of the index finger to scratch downward from the nostril opening to the upper lip several dozen times. Sneezing will stop immediately.

40. Mumps (swollen salivary glands):

Press the acupoint located right next to the swollen earlobe (point 14), then apply moxa to the opposite earlobe for a few minutes.
Repeat several times a day. The swelling from mumps will reduce very quickly.

41. Toothache:

Apply moxa around the cheek area on the painful side for about one minute. The toothache will stop immediately.

42. Red eyes:

Scratch the palm area located directly under the middle three fingers (index, middle, and ring fingers) for a few minutes. The eye redness will disappear quickly.

Note: If the left eye is red, scratch the left palm; if the right eye is red, scratch the right palm.

43. Eye pain:

Use the tip of your index finger to scratch the top of the ear (point 16) on the side of the painful eye for a while. The pain will stop immediately.

44. Eye twitching:

Use the tip of the index finger to scratch the area under the eyebrow arch (point 179) on the side of the twitching eye for a while. The eye twitching will stop.

45. Tongue numbness or stiffness:

a. Apply moxa along the back of the thumb on the left hand and gently roll the thumb for a while. The tongue numbness will disappear.

b. Tap the acupoint located just above the earlobe for about 1 minute to relieve tongue stiffness.

46. Hoarseness (loss of voice):

a. Rub the back of the neck vigorously for a few minutes until it becomes warm. The voice will return.

b. Use the tip of the index finger to tap strongly on the area in front of the earlobe multiple times throughout the day.
