Why do you have to put a towel over the fan in the summer?
The effect of placing a wet towel on the fan:
One of the tips to cool down in the summer that you can apply is to place a wet towel on the fan.
Take a basin of water, add 2-3 drops of essential oil to the basin or you can use cajeput oil or any essential oil that you like. Dip a towel into the prepared basin of water. Soak the towel in it for about 2 minutes, then take it out and wring it dry. Put the towel in a plastic bag, tie the bag tightly and leave it in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
When you need to use a fan, take a towel out of the refrigerator and cover it over the fan cage. You will see that the wind blowing out is much cooler. The scent of essential oils also helps the air in the room to be more pleasant and has a very good effect in repelling mosquitoes.
Some other ways to cool the room:
- Place ice in front of the fan
You can prepare a bowl of ice water and place it in front of the fan. When the fan is turned on, the wind will carry the water vapor and the cold air from the ice throughout the room, making the air cooler.
If you don't have ice, using a bowl of normal water will also help the wind blowing from the fan feel cooler.
- Close the doors and pull the curtains during hot sunny times
During hot sunny hours of the day, you should close the doors and pull the curtains on windows facing West and East. You should choose light-colored curtains to avoid absorbing heat.
