A tip for solving major household troubles
Inserting a Beer Bottle into the Drain May Seem Useless, but It’s a Surprisingly Smart and Effective Trick
This simple method addresses a common problem that most households face.
First, prepare a beer bottle and add 3 to 5 tablespoons of disinfectant solution (such as 84 disinfectant) into the bottle. Next, pour in hot water, but avoid boiling water to prevent damaging the pipes from the start. Then, directly pour the contents of the beer bottle into the drain. The disinfectant works to sterilize and eliminate harmful microorganisms, effectively dealing with small flying insects.
Once the liquid is poured, do not immediately remove the beer bottle. Leave it in place for a while and block the floor drain opening. This ensures that any small flying insects trying to escape cannot get out. Finally, cover the floor drain. After completing this step, the pipes will be clean and disinfected.
Step TwoMany people place a cloth or stocking over the floor drain cover, but this often leads to poor water filtration. Instead, I recommend using a disposable face mask. Choose a non-woven fabric mask, cut it to size, and wrap it around the floor drain cover. Then, secure it into the drain opening.
This method not only prevents small black bugs from flying up but also stops hair from falling into the drain without disrupting water flow—two benefits in one solution.
If you apply this method once a week, you won’t have to worry about small flying insects in your bathroom or hair clogging the drain. It’s a practical and effective approach!
