Actress Jessie Wallace soared into public consciousness when she began portraying the iconic character Kat Slater on the long-running BBC soap series EastEnders, making her debut in 2000 alongside the rest of the Slater family. It didn’t take long for her to become a favourite with viewers, thanks to her vivid performance and magnetic screen presence.

In March 2022, Jessie became a grandmother for the first time at age 50 when Tallulah gave birth to a baby boy named SJ at age 17. Jessie shared the news on Instagram, writing: “Welcome to the world, my grandson SJ. You are loved, cherished and adored.”  Despite the age difference and the relative youth of the new mother, Jessie appears to have embraced her role as grandmother with pride, though both mother and daughter continue to maintain a relatively low-profile lifestyle offline.
