Ex-Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz share 'magical' family farm update
Former Strictly Come Dancing champion and Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher has revealed a major new direction for his family’s 120-acre farm in the Peak District — already the focus of the popular ITV series Fletchers’ Family Farm. The site, which has become well known through the couple’s televised adventures in farming, will now officially open its gates to wedding bookings, offering couples a chance to tie the knot in one of the most scenic landscapes in the UK. (ITV)
The farm, purchased by Kelvin and his wife Liz during the pandemic, has been celebrated for its rustic charm, rolling hills and idyllic woodland, earning comparisons to some of Britain's best countryside venues (Country Living, 2023). With the third season of their ITV documentary now airing, the pair have decided to expand the property’s purpose and welcome a new wave of visitors.
A New Wedding Venue in the Heart of the Peak District
According to the official website, the couple is offering two distinct wedding options. The first is a barn ceremony held in the function barn located beneath the farm’s coffee shop — a space described as “rustic, flexible and full of character,” allowing couples to enjoy a magical celebration without the overwhelming price tag often associated with rural venues. The second option is a woodland blessing ceremony, set away from the main farm buildings in the sweeping countryside fields beneath Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook’s Monument — both iconic landmarks in the region and considered among the UK’s most photographed natural sites (BBC Travel). Situated beside a tranquil fishing lake and encircled by lush woodland, the location offers what the couple describes as an “enchanted woodland walk,” ideal for couples wanting a fairytale-style outdoor ceremony.
Bookings can be arranged directly through the farm’s website, and early interest has been described as “strong,” with many fans eager to experience the charm depicted in the ITV series.
A Troubling Health Update on the Show
The exciting wedding-venue announcement arrives amid a worrying development in the latest episode of Fletchers’ Family Farm, which aired Sunday, November 23. Viewers saw the full extent of an injury Kelvin suffered while participating in a charity rugby match earlier this year.
The actor, who previously won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 (BBC), had signed up to play alongside professional rugby stars Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan and Danny McGuire to raise money for the David Lewis Centre — a charity supporting individuals with complex neurological and learning needs.
Although Kelvin was initially benched, footage later showed him taking a heavy tackle during the match. “I'm hoping, fingers crossed, I've not — but it feels like I've torn my bicep,” he said at the time.
In the recent update, Kelvin confirmed that scans had verified the injury: he had, in fact, torn his bicep. This left him unable to complete several crucial commitments on the farm, including showing his prized Lincoln Red cattle at the Royal Cheshire Show — a major agricultural event in the region (The Guardian, agriculture features).

Liz Steps In
Faced with the setback, Kelvin admitted he would need help with the workload. “I need to find a potential understudy,” he joked on camera while assessing whether he could still manage appearances at upcoming shows.
Turning to Liz, he explained: “My arm is killing me still. It’s really sore and I’m thinking whether it’s best you taking them. You’ll be fine.” He added: “Let’s just see — but be on standby. How do you feel about that?”
Liz, visibly unimpressed, responded: “Well, not great, obviously,” prompting Kelvin to reassure her. “Despite the adversity, despite the hiccups, we’re still going to go,” he insisted, showing the resilience fans of the series have come to expect.
A New Era for the Fletchers
Between the farm’s expansion into a wedding venue and Kelvin’s ongoing recovery, life on the Fletcher family farm continues to evolve rapidly. The couple’s journey — balancing parenthood, a working farm, television commitments and now a hospitality venture — has struck a chord with viewers who enjoy seeing a celebrity family embrace the challenges and joys of rural living.
As Fletchers’ Family Farm continues its third season, fans can expect more behind-the-scenes looks at their growing enterprise, their family life and the unpredictable realities that accompany a move from the screen to the countryside.
