A young hairstylist’s viral video has melted hearts across the internet after her grandfather volunteered to become her “practice client.” According to AfroTech, 21-year-old A’lea Lynn — known online as @Aleaweea — is a rising hair entrepreneur who’s quickly gaining attention for her impressive wig installations, detailed tutorials, and authentic content documenting her journey as a self-taught stylist.

A’lea regularly posts videos showcasing her craftsmanship, from reviewing new wig units to offering step-by-step guidance on customization techniques, lace melts, and baby hair styling. But one particular post took her page to new levels of popularity — a video featuring her biggest cheerleader: her grandfather, lovingly nicknamed “Pop Pop.”

In the now-viral TikTok clip, Pop Pop sits calmly in the stylist’s chair as A’lea begins her magic. At first, he looks slightly puzzled when she pulls out a wig cap and adhesive tools, but soon enough, the transformation begins. Layer by layer, A’lea applies the glue foundation, perfects the lace blend, styles the curls, and finishes with those signature baby hairs.

By the time she’s done, Pop Pop is rocking a flawless, curly lace-front wig — and the internet can’t get enough. The video ends with him flashing a proud thumbs-up and a grin that says it all: mission accomplished.

“People were amazed not only at her technique but also at the bond between them,” reported Essence Magazine (Essence). “It’s a rare moment of generational love, laughter, and creativity.”

The clip has since garnered hundreds of thousands of views across TikTok and Instagram. Many users flooded the comments with praise, calling Pop Pop the “MVP of grandfathers” and A’lea a “future celebrity stylist.”

But this isn’t the first time Pop Pop has lent his head for the cause. According to Today.com, A’lea shared an earlier video from 2021 showing her grandfather sporting another wig installation, proving this has become something of a sweet tradition between them.

A’lea later took to social media to express her gratitude for both her growing online community and her ever-patient model.

“Thank you guys for all the positive comments!” she wrote. “I’m still so grateful that he lets me practice my craft on him — his bald head is the perfect canvas! He’s always a good sport, and we love creating these memories together.”

Beyond the laughs and viral fame, A’lea’s videos highlight something deeper: the beauty of family support in nurturing young entrepreneurship. As AfroTech notes, stories like hers are reshaping how young Black creators build careers through digital platforms — turning passion, skill, and family love into business success.

Her growing fan base has helped bring more visibility (and clients) to her hair business, Ali Grace Hair, which she often promotes in her posts. With her grandfather’s help, A’lea has turned what started as small-scale practice sessions into a thriving creative brand.

“Pop Pop the Stallion,” as fans affectionately dubbed him, may not have expected his debut as a hair model to go viral, but his enthusiasm — and his wig — certainly stole the show.
