Skyler's Voice: "What? No, stop! Stop turning!"
Boat System: "Automated safety protocol active."
Skyler: "You stupid machine, I'm the president!"
Laughter rippled through the room before the judge banged his gavel. Donna let it play fifteen more seconds, enough to show Skyler waving her arms like a conductor having a meltdown, before pausing it.
"Your Honor," Donna said, "as you can hear, my client did not endanger Ms. Campbell. In fact, the system clearly states it's an automated safety feature. She wasn't trapped; she was protected from herself."
Patricia shot up. "Objection! Dramatization!"
"Overruled," the judge said, not looking up. "Continue."
Donna nodded and handed him a document. "These are the GPS logs showing the boat's path, speed, and automatic return sequence, all within legal safety limits. We also have security footage of Ms. Campbell entering my client's dock without consent."
The judge scanned the paperwork, expression neutral. "Ms. Campbell, were you invited onto the defendant's property?"
Skyler stammered. "I... I was acting in the interest of the community."
"Answer the question."
"No."
"And did you attempt to operate his boat?"
"I... yes, but—"
"Thank you. You may sit."
