It turns out rice weevils fear this the most — put a little of it in your rice container and you won’t have to worry about pests all year

The rice weevil, scientifically known as a common grain pest, reproduces extremely fast. During this season, when temperatures rise slowly, rice weevils lay eggs and pupate — which can be incredibly frustrating.

So what should you do if your rice becomes infested? The solution is actually very simple. Just place a small amount of this item into your rice bag, and even after months in storage, you won’t have to worry about weevils. Today, I’ll show you two easy tricks to stop rice weevils from multiplying. Let’s learn them together!

Method 1: Using strong scents

Rice weevils are extremely sensitive to smell. You can prepare a bit of garlic along with spices such as star anise and peppercorns. Then take a clean disposable mask and cut off one of the straps.

Place the garlic and spices into the mask and tie it securely using the strap you cut earlier.

After that, put the scented pouch into your rice bag or rice container. The strong aroma of the garlic and spices will repel weevils, keeping them away effectively.

Method 2: Freezing

Rice often gets infested because the eggs are already present in the grains. To solve this, put the rice into a sealed plastic bag, then place it in the freezer for about 48 hours. The low temperature will kill both eggs and rice weevils, preventing any future infestation.
