Misconceptions that turn water purifiers into breeding grounds for germs – stop using them immediately or you could harm your whole family

The main reason is that filter cartridges used for a long time will lose their ability to eliminate bacteria, causing the water purifier to become ineffective.

Do Not Connect the Water Faucet to the Hot Water Supply

In a water purifier, the water dispensing faucet must never be connected to a hot water pipe. Doing so can lead to serious consequences, as excessive heat may cause the pipe to leak or melt. Moreover, the water pipe will deteriorate very quickly under high temperatures.

Failure to Replace Water Filter Cartridges

Filter replacement must be carried out periodically to ensure a hygienic and mineral-rich water supply. If water filter cartridges are not replaced according to the recommended schedule, using water from the purifier can become dangerous.

The main reason is that filters used for extended periods lose their antibacterial effectiveness, rendering the water purifier useless.

In addition, during use, users should not attempt to repair malfunctions on their own. Instead, they should seek assistance from professional technicians to ensure stable operation, improved performance, and the most accurate installation possible.

Boiling Filtered Water Before Drinking

Many people believe that boiled water is the safest, so even after filtration, they still boil the water before drinking. However, in reality, this belief is completely incorrect.

The output water of household water purifiers has already removed all impurities, contaminants, heavy metals, and bacteria, meeting the Ministry of Health’s standards for direct drinking water. Therefore, the filtered water can be consumed directly without boiling. Users can safely drink the water immediately after dispensing it from the purifier.

If filtered water still contains minerals, boiling it may cause these minerals to be lost, making the water less beneficial than drinking it directly from the purifier. Furthermore, boiled water must be carefully stored and used promptly. Otherwise, bacteria may re-enter the water and cause illness when consumed.

Choosing a Water Purifier with as Many Filters as Possible

A water purifier with more filter cartridges does not necessarily provide better filtration. Typically, an effective water purifier has a maximum of five filters, including three pre-filters, one RO or Nano membrane, and one cation filter designed for areas with high calcium or limestone content.

After passing through the filtration membrane, water becomes purified, and beneficial minerals are also removed. Therefore, many purifiers are equipped with additional upgrade stages (6, 7, 8, 9, etc.) to replenish essential minerals for the body.

Users need to clearly distinguish between filtration cartridges and mineral-replenishing cartridges in order to choose a high-quality water purifier.
