With just a few simple tips, you can eliminate mosquitoes from your home.

Repel Mosquitoes with Lemons and Cloves

There are many different ways to repel mosquitoes. You can use insect repellent sprays, mosquito coils, or essential oils. Additionally, there are several natural ingredients that can help keep mosquitoes away from your house.

Lemon is one of them. You just need a lemon and some cloves to safely repel mosquitoes without worrying about affecting your health. You can buy cloves at local shops that sell herbal products or spices.

Here’s a simple method: Cut the lemon in half, then insert some cloves into the cut sides of the lemon. The more cloves you use, the stronger the scent and the more effective the mosquito-repelling power.

Place the lemon with cloves in the corners of your home or in areas where mosquitoes are more concentrated, such as the bathroom, dining room, or living room. You can also put the lemon on a plate for easy cleanup later.

Use Coffee Grounds

After brewing coffee, don’t throw away the coffee grounds—use them to repel mosquitoes. Dry the used coffee grounds and then burn them. Use the coffee grounds to scatter around the house, especially in corners where mosquitoes tend to gather.

Note, when burning the coffee grounds, make sure to keep the windows open for ventilation. Also, be cautious with the coffee grounds as they can burn and cause a fire hazard.

Use Orange or Tangerine Peels

When you eat oranges or tangerines, don’t throw away the peels. The essential oils in the peels of these fruits are very effective at repelling mosquitoes. The fragrance in the peels attracts humans, but mosquitoes stay away from it. To repel mosquitoes, simply burn the dried peels of oranges or tangerines.

Although this method only works for a short time, about a few hours, it can still make your home smell fresh and pleasant.

Repel Mosquitoes with Garlic

Garlic is a spice known for its effectiveness in repelling mosquitoes. It seems that mosquitoes strongly avoid the scent of garlic. In places with the smell of garlic, mosquitoes tend to stay far away.

Here are some ways you can use garlic to repel mosquitoes:

Eat Garlic: If you frequently eat garlic, its smell will escape through your pores. Although the scent is very mild for you, mosquitoes are very sensitive to it and will certainly avoid it.

Apply Garlic Water on Skin: If you have young children and don’t want to use chemical repellents, use a little garlic water to apply to their skin. The mosquitoes will avoid your children.

Boil Garlic Water and Spray It Around the House: Boiling garlic water and using it to spray around the house, especially in corners where mosquitoes gather, will help keep the mosquitoes away. This will prevent mosquitoes from buzzing around your living space.

Use Mosquito-Repellent Essential Oils

Mosquitoes tend to dislike the scent of herbal essential oils. You can use natural oils like lavender, lemongrass, tea tree, eucalyptus, or peppermint oil to repel mosquitoes. These oils can be used with a diffuser or mixed with water to mop the floors.

Additionally, one of the simplest ways to repel mosquitoes is to use menthol oil. This is an affordable option that is often readily available in households. You just need to apply a few drops of menthol oil in areas where mosquitoes are concentrated or rub it directly on your skin.

You can also apply some menthol oil to the fan to help the scent spread more widely and repel mosquitoes more effectively.
