This occurs due to chemical reactions between nitrites and other substances in the body, which can result in the formation of carcinogenic compounds.

While some individuals argue that there is not enough evidence to confirm this risk, experts point out that there have been documented cases in which both adults and children showed concerning health symptoms after being exposed to high levels of nitrites. These findings highlight the importance of moderation and awareness.

Consuming processed meats occasionally is unlikely to cause immediate harm. However, frequent and excessive intake over time may negatively impact health and increase the risk of serious illnesses.
