Jada Pinkett Smith Hit With $3 Million Lawsuit For Allegedly Threatening Will’s Friend

Jada Pinkett Smith Lawsuit Pop Culture News

Bilaal Salaam has accused Jada Pinkett Smith of threatening him during a confrontation that allegedly took place in 2021. According to a recent report by TMZ, the actress, talk show host, and producer is facing a lawsuit filed by Salaam in November, which outlines a series of troubling claims involving her, her associates, and her then-marriage to Will Smith.

In the lawsuit, Salaam states that he had been a close friend of Will Smith for several decades. However, he claims their relationship began to deteriorate in 2021 following an alleged incident at Will Smith’s 53rd birthday celebration. The event reportedly took place at a movie theater in Calabasas, California, and was attended by close friends and members of Smith’s inner circle.

Salaam alleges that during the party, Jada Pinkett Smith arrived with approximately seven members of her entourage and confronted him directly. According to the filing, the situation quickly escalated, with Jada allegedly becoming verbally aggressive. Salaam claims she accused him of sharing her personal information and warned him that if he did not stop, he could “end up missing or catch a bullet.” He further alleges that she pressured him to sign a nondisclosure agreement on the spot.

At this time, the exact events that led to the confrontation remain unclear, and no independent evidence has been made public to substantiate the claims. Salaam maintains, however, that this encounter marked the beginning of ongoing issues between himself and individuals connected to the Smith family.

The lawsuit goes on to describe additional conflicts that allegedly arose months later, following Will Smith’s highly publicized altercation with Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. Salaam claims he was contacted by a mutual acquaintance and asked to assist with what he describes as “crisis management” in the aftermath of the Oscars incident. According to the complaint, he declined to participate, believing the requested actions were unethical or potentially illegal.

“Plaintiff refused to perform tasks he believed were illegal, unethical, or morally compromising,” the lawsuit states. “He asserted that his conscience would not allow him to take part in any cover-up or misleading public relations strategy.”

Following his refusal, Salaam alleges that members of the Smiths’ circle initiated a retaliatory campaign against him, though specific details regarding this alleged retaliation have not yet been disclosed. As of now, Jada Pinkett Smith has not issued a public response to the lawsuit or the accusations contained within it.

These latest claims surface more than a year after Salaam appeared on Unwine With Tasha K, where he made another controversial allegation—asserting that he once walked in on Will Smith engaged in a sexual encounter with actor Duane Martin. Jada Pinkett Smith publicly denied that claim shortly afterward during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, dismissing the allegation as “ridiculous.”

As the lawsuit moves forward, it remains to be seen how these allegations will be addressed in court or whether any additional statements will be made by those involved.
