Ray J Accused of Owing 6-Figure Debt Days Before Arrest Over Alleged Threats to Ex Princess (Exclusive)

Ray J is facing renewed legal and personal turmoil after being sued over an alleged six-figure credit card debt just days before his recent arrest involving a domestic dispute with his estranged wife, Princess Love, Us Weekly has learned.

According to court records filed on November 19 in Los Angeles Superior Court, American Express brought a lawsuit against Ray J, whose legal name is Willie Norwood, and his company, Tronix Network. The credit card issuer alleges that the singer and entrepreneur, 44, breached the terms of their agreement by failing to make required payments.

In the filing, American Express claims Ray J and Tronix Network owe a total of $139,849.85. The company asserts that payments on the account stopped in May, leaving a substantial outstanding balance. Tronix Network, which Ray J announced earlier in 2024, is a streaming platform aimed at expanding his business ventures beyond music and television. As of now, Ray J has not publicly responded to the lawsuit or addressed the allegations regarding the unpaid debt.

The lawsuit surfaced shortly before a highly publicized incident at Ray J’s home. On Thursday, November 27, Ray J was livestreaming from his residence when the situation escalated dramatically. During the broadcast, he appeared to handle and load a firearm while visibly upset. Princess Love, 41, entered the room to retrieve their daughter, which led to a heated confrontation. Throughout the livestream, Ray J could be heard yelling at Love and accusing her of being intoxicated.

Tensions intensified when another man entered the room. Ray J was allegedly heard threatening the individual, saying, “I’ll shoot the f*** out of you,” followed by, “I’ll kill you.” He also warned those present to leave his home immediately, claiming he was armed.

Law enforcement sources later told TMZ that police received a call around 4 a.m. regarding possible domestic violence and threats at a home in Porter Ranch, California. Officers responded to the scene and took Ray J into custody. He was subsequently released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Hours after the arrest, Princess Love addressed the incident publicly by posting a video on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Enough is enough,” and stated that she would never place her children in harm’s way. Love said she has been raising their children largely on her own and accused Ray J of repeatedly “terrorizing” women. She further alleged that he pulled a gun on her and another family member as she attempted to remove the children from the home.

Ray J later shared his own Instagram video, which has since been deleted, defending his actions and his role as a father. In the video, he emphasized his love for his children and maintained that he did not believe he had done anything wrong. He denied pointing a gun at Princess Love or intending to harm anyone during the incident.

The latest events unfold amid the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings. In February 2024, Princess Love filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, announcing the decision in a heartfelt Instagram statement. She wrote that after extensive reflection, discussion, and counseling, the couple realized their paths had diverged and that separating was in the best interest of both parties.

Notably, this marks the fourth time the couple has initiated divorce proceedings. Love first filed in 2020 but later dismissed the case. Ray J filed his own divorce petition later that year, which was also dismissed. He filed again in 2021, only for that case to be dropped as well. The current divorce case remains pending.

Ray J and Princess Love were married in August 2016 and share two children, daughter Melody and son Epik. As legal challenges and personal disputes continue to unfold, both the lawsuit and the domestic incident remain under public and legal scrutiny.
