Nathan pointed toward the lock.
“Unlock the door.”
“You’re bullying me.”
“Unlock the door.”
“You’re a bully.”
“Unlock the door.”
She looked at Lisa.
“Are you going to let him do this?”
Lisa answered calmly.
“You can stop it by unlocking the door.”
“I haven’t committed a crime.”
“You have been ordered out.”
“That’s not a crime.”
“Open the door.”
The woman shook her head.
Nathan raised the tool.
“One last time.”
She stared back.
“No.”
Nathan struck the lower corner of the driver’s window.
Glass shattered inward.
The woman screamed.
“What the hell!”
Nathan cleared the remaining pieces carefully and reached toward the lock.
The woman slapped at his arm.
“Don’t touch me!”
“Hands where I can see them.”
“You broke my window!”
“Hands where I can see them.”
“This is assault!”
Nathan unlocked the door from inside.
The woman grabbed the steering wheel.
Lisa moved to the opening.
“Let go of the wheel.”
“No!”
“Let go.”
“You cannot drag me out of my own car!”
Nathan opened the door.
The woman leaned away.
“Get out.”
“No!”
Nathan took her left arm.
Lisa controlled the right.
The woman twisted violently.
“Help!”
“Stop resisting.”
“Help me!”
“Step out.”
“You’re attacking me!”
“Step out.”
Her phone fell between the seat and center console.
She reached for it.
Nathan blocked her hand.
“Do not reach.”
“My phone!”
“Do not reach.”
“You broke my phone!”
“It’s not broken.”
“You don’t know that!”
Lisa pulled her right arm free.
“Stand up.”
The woman planted both feet against the floorboard.
“No.”
Nathan looked at Lisa.
“Ready?”
Lisa nodded.
Together they guided the woman out.
Her shoes hit the pavement.
She immediately tried to turn back toward the SUV.
Nathan took control of her wrist.
“Hands behind your back.”
“What crime?”
“Hands behind your back.”
“What crime am I being arrested for?”
“Obstruction. Resisting.”
“I didn’t resist.”
