There are a lot of mosquitoes, put this bowl of water in the room, no matter how many mosquitoes there are, they will fly away and sleep well all night

Humid weather creates a favorable environment for mosquitoes to grow and multiply. Mosquitoes are dangerous disease carriers, spreading illnesses such as dengue fever and malaria.

Although chemical-based mosquito-killing methods like mosquito coils and sprays bring quick results, many people worry about their negative impact on health. Instead, you can make use of easily available household ingredients to repel mosquitoes.

Sugar
Mosquitoes are attracted to sweet scents, and this can be used to trap them naturally. You can dissolve some sugar in water and pour the mixture into a small glass or plastic bottle.

Place the bottle horizontally in corners of the house or under cabinets. The sweet smell will lure mosquitoes, and once they come into contact with the sugary water, they will get trapped inside the bottle and find it hard to escape.

Beer
Beer is very effective in repelling mosquitoes. You can mix beer with sugar and soap to create a mosquito trap. To do this, take a plastic bottle and cut off the top third. Fill the bottom two-thirds of the bottle with a mixture of beer, sugar, and detergent (beer should take up about one-third of the bottle’s volume).

Then, invert the cut-off top and place it inside the bottom part to form a funnel that attracts mosquitoes. Once they fall in, they cannot escape. Place this trap in mosquito-prone areas such as under the bed, behind cabinets, or in the kitchen for effective results.

Essential oils
Essential oils can repel mosquitoes because they dislike their scent. Oils such as peppermint or tea tree oil, which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, are widely used to keep mosquitoes away.

You can use an essential oil diffuser to scent your home, or dilute the oil with water and use it during a bath to prevent mosquito bites.

Dishwashing liquid
Dishwashing liquid with a pleasant scent can attract mosquitoes, but its alkaline content can destroy mosquito eggs and prevent reproduction.

Simply prepare a bowl of water, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid, and stir well. Place the bowl in areas where mosquitoes are common, such as under the bed or in the kitchen.

When mosquitoes are drawn to the fragrance, they will approach the bowl. If they drink the water or lay eggs in it, the alkaline content will stop their breeding cycle.

Lime leaves and lemons
Lime leaves and lemons naturally have a strong fragrance and contain essential oils that repel mosquitoes. You can place fresh lime leaves or sliced lemons in areas where mosquitoes often appear.

To increase effectiveness, cut a lemon into thin slices, stick cloves into them, and place them around the house.

Keep your house clean
Managing the environment is crucial to preventing mosquito growth. Damp areas, dense vegetation, and gardens are ideal breeding places for mosquitoes. Therefore, you should regularly trim trees and bushes to reduce mosquito numbers.

Since mosquitoes lay eggs in water, ensure there is no stagnant water in pots, tanks, or any container that can hold water. Additionally, tightly cover containers of clean water to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
