Minka Kelly couldn't help but gush over her boyfriend, Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds, during a warm and candid appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show — just one day after she awkwardly sidestepped similar questions from Jenna Bush Hager on Today’s Jenna & Friends.

During Wednesday’s interview, host Drew Barrymore asked whether Reynolds, 38, has read Kelly’s memoir, Tell Me Everything, a deeply personal book in which the actress opens up about her childhood, trauma, and journey toward healing.

Kelly, 45, explained that Reynolds actually read the manuscript before the two ever met in person, back when they were only texting and FaceTiming after being introduced through a mutual friend.

“He was like, ‘I wanna read it,’” Kelly recalled. “So I was like, ‘Well, OK… here you go. You’ll either be terrified and run for the hills, or you’ll see the beauty in all of it.’”

Luckily for her, Reynolds “was the latter,” she said with a smile, explaining that his reaction not only reassured her but “made us closer.”

Barrymore joked, “God, if we could all come with a dossier about our lives, how amazing would that be?” prompting laughter from the audience.

Kelly and the Grammy-winning musician officially went public with their romance in 2022, though the pair have mostly opted to keep their relationship private. According to People and Entertainment Tonight, the couple were first photographed together on a casual Los Angeles outing, sparking speculation (sources: People, ET Online).

Despite preferring privacy, Kelly posted a heartfelt tribute to Reynolds this past July on Instagram.

That affectionate message was exactly what came up during Kelly’s Today interview on Tuesday — and the atmosphere could not have been more different.

When Jenna Bush Hager, 43, casually asked about the tribute, Kelly appeared instantly uncomfortable.
“I feel very lucky,” she replied curtly, describing Reynolds only as a “really good guy.”

Sensing the shift, Bush Hager gently backed off: “OK, sounds like you don’t want to talk about it. That’s fine.” Clips from the moment quickly spread across social media, with fans calling the exchange “awkward but relatable” (source: Today.com).
