Natural features
White Polygonum multiflorum is a climbing plant that grows from 2 to 5 m long. The stem and branches are red or reddish brown, very hairy, and the older it is, the smoother it becomes. The leaves grow opposite, long lanceolate, pointed at the tip, round or slightly conical at the base, with many fine hairs on the underside and shorter on the upper side. The leaves are 4-14 cm long, 2-9 cm wide, the petiole is 5-8 cm long, and hairy. The purple-yellow or light brown flowers grow in cymes and have many hairs. The large, horizontally split fruit looks like horns (hence the name horn plant). The fruit is diamond-shaped, with gray hairs, 7-11 cm long, 8 mm wide. The seeds are flat, convex on the back, 5-7 mm long, 2 mm wide, with 2 cm long fine hairs.
Some places also call it Moldy Vine because the plant has a lot of hair that looks like mold.
The whole tree, from the trunk, leaves and young fruits, secretes a milky white sap, hence the name Cow's Milk Tree.
