For the past month, the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2024 has been one of the hottest topics among the Asian drama community worldwide. Using the IDOLCHAMP app and its RUBY CHAMSIM currency, fans were able to vote for their favorite star in the “Outstanding Asian Star” category multiple times and push them towards the top of the standings.

The category included nominees from six Asian countries: Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Korea. Competition was fierce, with some coming down to the final moments and one last push to secure first place. But thanks to these stars’ supportive fans, they were able to rise above and claim the winners spot for their own. Voting lines have officially closed and the votes are being tallied in order for the awards to be presented at SDA 2024 on September 25th. However, we were able to catch a glimpse at the standings in the final moments after voting lines had officially closed.

SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Korea (Male)

As the votes closed, Byeon WooSeok was able to claim the top spot for SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Korea (Male)! This year, he received international acclaim for his memorable portrayal of Ryu SeonJae in “Lovely Runner“. He captivated millions with his wonderful display of acting prowess and heartwarming gestures. Byeon WooSeok was also a complete heartthrob outside of the drama, leading to an unending wave of support that has transcended past the finale of “Lovely Runner”.

It seems only fitting that Kim HyeYoon became the winner for SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Korea (Female)! She was Byeon WooSeok’s co-star on “Lovely Runner” and played the endearingly bright Im Sol. Their chemistry was electrifyingly sweet with Im Sol becoming the embodiment of the sun. On top of her acting, Kim HyeYoon’s bright, kind-hearted nature won the hearts of millions, helping her to become one of the winners for SDA 2024.

Looking at the nominees from Thailand, first and second were decided by the slimmest margins. It became a neck and neck race that could have ended either way. However, as voting lines closed, Win Metawin was able to claim the top spot thanks to the support from his fans. Nominated for his appearance in two series, “Enigma” and “Beauty Newbie“, Win has surpassed every expectation. Throughout his career, he’s proven to be a talented actor with a mixture of spell-binding charisma and heartwarmingly cute charms, leading to him becoming the winner of SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Thailand!

Among the nominees representing Singapore, Desmond Tan was able to grab hold of first place! He’s had a storied career, spanning all the way back to 2008. Considered an esteemed veteran, he’s always pushed himself to go above and beyond expectations, even making strides in the music scene. All of these qualities, and so much more, has led to the phenomenal support he’s received for SDA 2024. Now, he can add yet another award to his list of accolades.

When it comes to fan support, the Philippines has it in spades, showering their beloved celebrities with endless love and praise. For SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Philippines, the support for Kim Chiu came in full force, earning her the top spot. Although there’s been an influx of talented individuals since she’s started her career, Kim Chiu continues to remain at the top and maintains a loyal following through her charms as a complete all-rounder. This, on top of her charming personality, has certainly aided Kim to reach the top spot for SDA 2024.

Towards the end of the voting period, the nominees from Malaysia also ended up in a neck and neck race, with the differential only being a few hundred votes away from each other. But by the end, Siti Saleha was able to persevere, and through fan support was able to become the winner for SDA 2024 “Outstanding Asian Star” – Malaysia. Looking back at her career so far and work through “SeOfis” which earned the nomination for SDA 2024, there’s no doubt that Siti Saleha absolutely deserves this award.

After weeks of passionate voting, Ochi Rosdiana was able to claim the winner’s crown among the nominees from Indonesia. Active in the entertainment industry since her adolescence, she’s transformed into a wonderful actress that’s celebrated across Indonesia. She’s developed an impressive repertoire that would make anyone look twice.

It truly was a rollercoaster ride for all supporters as they poured out their love and votes to push their favorite celebrity to the top. However, as the dust settles, they can look on with pride, helping these stars received the acclaim they so rightfully deserve. Now, all that’s left is to wait until September 25th for the award ceremony to commence and the winners to be officially recognized in front of their cheering fans.
