"Including the warehouse in question?"
"Yes."
Simone retrieved a document from her files. "I have here the original security system installation contract from 2018. Are you familiar with it?"
Franklin shifted slightly. "Generally, yes."
"The contract specifies Model TR-750 cameras with enhanced night vision capabilities. Is that accurate?"
"Yes, that's our standard installation."
Simone approached with another document. "This is the manufacturer's specification sheet for the TR-750. Could you read the highlighted section?"
Franklin hesitated, glancing at Victoria Hale before reading: "'TR-750 units process and store footage in proprietary .NVR format, requiring dedicated servers for backup and retrieval.'"
"Yet the footage you 'discovered' is in standard .MP4 format. Can you explain that discrepancy?"
The witness's composure cracked slightly. "We convert files for courtroom presentation."
"Really?" Simone pulled out another document. "Because according to the TR-750 manual, format conversion destroys the encrypted timestamp data you just testified was impossible to alter. How do you explain that?"
"Objection!" Hale was on her feet. "Miss Johnson is badgering the witness."
"I'm establishing the authenticity of key evidence," Simone countered. "Evidence that was rushed through this morning specifically to avoid proper examination."
Judge Kessler's face darkened, but before he could respond, Franklin spoke. "The conversion was done by our technical team. I'd have to consult with them about the specific process."
