I'm A Celeb Kelly Brook called off wedding to famous ex minutes before ceremony
Kelly Brook’s upcoming appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is set to bring her back into the spotlight — but long before she entered the jungle, the star had already survived one of the most emotionally intense moments of her life: calling off her wedding at the very last minute (The Guardian).
The 45-year-old actress, presenter, and model is preparing to take on a range of gruelling Bushtucker trials as she joins the 2025 cast in the Australian jungle. She will camp beneath the stars, navigate tense group dynamics, and compete for the highly coveted title of Queen of the Jungle (ITV Press Office). Yet, as fans are quickly learning, Brook is no stranger to high-pressure situations — and one of her toughest life decisions happened long before she ever donned jungle gear.
A Heartbreaking Wedding-Day Realisation
During a recent appearance on Loose Women, Brook revisited the emotional turmoil surrounding her dramatic decision to cancel her wedding just moments before the ceremony. She described how she and her then-partner were about to step onto a private jet flying them to Las Vegas, where they planned to marry. But as the jet waited on the runway, something deep inside told her that the moment wasn’t right (BBC News).
The subject came up as the panel discussed whether it is ever acceptable to leave someone at the altar. Brook clarified that while she didn’t literally abandon her partner at the altar itself, she did end things while already dressed in her wedding gown.
She recalled:
“The jet was waiting, we were going to Vegas that day, and I was just crying. It was like a movie — it was all very dramatic. I was in a dress; it was just horrific. It was the most horrific thing. But we stayed together, and he came around to it and understood why. I’m not going to mention who it was.”
A Relationship Strained by Age and Pressure
Brook, who was just 25 at the time, now recognises that a major reason the relationship struggled was the age gap between her and her partner, who was 42. With years of hindsight, she said simply:
“They should have known better.”
She admitted that she felt “manipulated” and ultimately “coerced” into a commitment she wasn’t emotionally ready for.
“I kind of went along as a people pleaser,” she explained. “Sometimes you want to stay with the person, but you’re not necessarily ready for that kind of commitment.”
Relationship experts have noted that significant age gaps can intensify power imbalances, especially in emotionally charged decisions such as marriage (Psychology Today).
From Past Turmoil to Present Happiness
Today, Brook’s life looks dramatically different. The actress — soon to face the challenges of the I’m A Celebrity jungle — is happily married to Jeremy Parisi, a French model and actor. The pair married in 2022 after first meeting in 2014, and sources say their relationship is built on stability, mutual respect, and emotional maturity (People Magazine).
As she prepares for her jungle debut, fans are eager to see how Brook’s resilience, life experience, and sense of humour will serve her in the high-stress, unpredictable world of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.
