I’m A Celeb 2025 to be ‘toughest’ series yet as bosses scrap iconic feature: ‘They are going to have to fight more’

I’m A Celeb 2025 is set to become the “toughest” series yet, as show bosses officially scrap several iconic features and introduce stricter rules designed to push contestants further than ever before (ITV Press Office).

The long-running ITV reality hit will return to screens on Sunday, November 16, bringing together a brand-new cast of celebrities ready to face the harsh challenges of the Australian jungle. This year’s lineup includes well-known figures such as Kelly Brook, Martin Kemp, and Lisa Riley, all preparing to trade their comfort for camp life in the wilderness (The Guardian).

Major Rule Shake-Up Announced

Earlier this week, ITV confirmed a significant overhaul of the rules for the 2025 edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. Among the biggest changes is the “two in a row and then you go” rule for Bushtucker Trials. Under this new system, viewers can only vote the same contestant into a trial twice consecutively. After that, the vote automatically shifts to another campmate, ensuring a broader range of participants face the challenges (BBC News).

But the amendments don’t stop there.

Producers Want Celebrities to ‘Fight More’

In an interview with MailOnline, executive producer Olly Nash explained the motivation behind the changes, emphasizing the show’s evolving competitive atmosphere.

“It’s a tough and gruelling show, and there’s nothing wrong with driving that home,” Nash said. “We need to see more celebrities earning their keep—that’s the most important thing.”

Nash added that more campmates than ever will be participating in trials, noting that the experience is becoming “more of a competition” rather than a simple endurance test.

“Last year, we had a happy, positive cast that bonded quickly. This year, they’re going to have to fight more, earn more, and play a much bigger part in camp,” he explained. “There’s no sitting back on the beds anymore—they’ll have to step up, face the music, and deal with the pressure.”

He also hinted that some cast members may become irritable if deprived of food or sleep, leading to more tension and emotional moments (Daily Mail).

Luxury Items Completely Removed

In a surprising move, producers have eliminated the luxury item feature, which traditionally allowed celebrities to receive comforting items from home—such as a favourite pillow or a framed photo.

According to production insiders, this removal is intended to keep contestants “on their toes” by reducing the emotional comforts that previously helped them cope with jungle life (The Independent).

Instead, celebrities will now have the opportunity to win a framed photo of someone of their choice through special challenges, making it a reward rather than a guaranteed perk.

New Feature: The Getaway Car

One of the more intriguing additions to the 2025 season is the introduction of the Getaway Car. On the launch episode, the first ten celebrities will be divided into two groups.

The first two contestants in each group must complete an opening challenge, with the winners earning a seat in the Getaway Car. Those who secure a seat will be transported directly to the main camp, giving them an advantage and possibly avoiding early discomfort (Sky News).

This added layer of strategy and competition is expected to reshape the early dynamics of the series, creating a more intense and unpredictable start.
