72-year-old Pierce Brosnan is putting family first. The actor famously known for portraying James Bond recently reunited with his son Christopher, 52, for a dinner outing in London last Wednesday night after years of estrangement. The dinner took place at the upscale restaurant Dorian in the Notting Hill neighbourhood, and Christopher was joined by his younger half-brother Dylan, 28.

Brosnan emerged from the restaurant wearing a black jacket and black jeans, smiling broadly as he walked with his sons — a striking image given the longstanding separation between the star and his eldest son. The outing marks the first time he has been publicly seen with Christopher in years.

Background of the relationship

Christopher is the biological son of Cassandra Harris and Dermot Harris; Brosnan adopted Christopher (and his sister Charlotte) after Dermot’s death in 1986.  This family history was further complicated when Cassandra died of ovarian cancer in 1991, and Charlotte died of the same disease in 2013, events that had profound emotional impact on Brosnan.

In the mid-2000s, Brosnan publicly admitted that he had effectively “cut off” Christopher due to his struggles with drug addiction. In a 2005 interview, he said:

“Christopher is still very lost. Shockingly so. I know where he is, but he’s having a hard life.”
“I had to say, ‘Go. Get busy living, or get busy dying.’ He has my prayers.”

The reunion and what it suggests

At the dinner in London, sources described the atmosphere as relaxed and contented. One insider told The Mirror:

“They both looked happy and relaxed while sitting down with one of Brosnan’s other sons Dylan. Pierce and Christopher’s problems have been well documented. But it seems they’ve managed to put them behind them.”

The fact that they sat together in a public, social setting suggests a meaningful thaw in their relationship. While no formal statement has been issued by Brosnan’s representatives, the gesture is significant.

Why this matters

For Brosnan, the reconciliation may represent more than just a family moment — it might reflect a deeper desire to heal old wounds. He has often spoken about his own father’s absence and how that shaped his approach to fatherhood. For example, he once stated:

“I just want to be there for my children, because my dad wasn’t there for me.”

With Christopher’s addiction and legal issues having created a rift, this dinner may be a symbol of forgiveness and a step toward renewed connection. For Christopher, re-entering the fold in this public way could mark a turning point — though much remains private and behind the scenes.

What’s next

While the dinner is a hopeful sign, long-term relationships like this often require ongoing communication and rebuilding of trust. Observers suggest that younger brother Dylan may have helped bridge the gap, encouraging both father and eldest son toward reconciliation.  In any case, for Brosnan — who has a large blended family including sons Sean, Paris and Dylan — this moment is a testament to his stated aim: to prioritise presence, love and connection with his children.
