A tragic incident occurred this Saturday in Barangay VF Gustilo, Purok Zone 4, where an 8-month-old baby in the womb lost his life after being accidentally shot by his father, according to a report by the Filipino Star Ngayon.

According to a report given to PLt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, chief of the Cadiz City Police Station, the 35-year-old suspect allegedly went to a friend's house with his 34-year-old live-in partner. The man intended to show off the .38 revolver he was carrying to his friends. However, while showing off the gun, it accidentally went off and hit his pregnant partner in the stomach.

The woman was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital to save the baby's life, but doctors were unable to save the child. The suspect surrendered to authorities after the incident. His partner will no longer press charges against him after he apologized. However, police are continuing to press charges against him for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
